A Different kind Of Wealth Redistribution

My how things in education have changed since this picture was taken. This school pictured here was located in Blackbird Delaware and dates from the early 1900's.

At that time schools were pretty simple, reading, writing, and arithmetic. There were no fancy computers, kids learned American history rather than "Social" studies, and there was no new math just plain old arithmetic.

And yet children from schools like this were better educated,in many instances, and better able to compose written essays and reports, than many collage graduates today.

But this article isn't about academics it's about socialism in the classroom. Perhaps socialism, or redistribution if you will, crept in when American history was thrown out, and social studies came in.

America was built upon a healthy respect for individual responsibility, as well as ,respect for personal and private property. And yet today in many public schools these principles are woefully absent.

When I went to school back in the sixties and seventies, children were given lists of supplies such as rulers, types of pencils, notebooks etc. appropriate for their grade level. Parents were advised on what quantities of these supplies would be necessary for the beginning of the school year.

Once Mom and the kids had their supplies. The kids took them to school and were expected to be responsible for stowing these supplies in their desks and keeping track of what was theirs.
In this manner children were taught a valuable lesson about personal property and responsibility.

Now there were some things that were brought and shared in common, such as big boxes of tissues. Each child would bring one big box for the class, and also had some of the little pocket packs in their desks.

But like I said my how things have changed. this week I went with my youngest to get him enrolled in school I was promptly handed a list of supplies that would be required for the beginning of the school year. And what an extensive list it was.

The header at the top of the page read "General Supplies".and requested: one pack of note book paper.
3 packs of pencils 20 per pack.
1 big eraser(latex free)or a box of pencil top erasers.
5 containers of Clorox or baby wipes.
1 pack of "skinny" glue sticks or double stick tape.
1 or more rolls of scotch tape.
1 pack of at least 12 colored pencils.
1-2 hand held pencil sharpeners.
1 roll of paper towels.
At the bottom of the list it said "These items will be collected in the gym on the first three days of school and divided between the core teachers".

There it was plain and simple"from each according to their ability to each according to their need". I know why they started doing things like this, it's so those students whose parents are poorer won't "feel bad" if they can't get as many or as nice supplies as a wealthier student.

In my day each kid had their own small list of stuff and had to take care of it. My parents didn't have as much money as the parents of some of my friends, and sometimes I had to get the cheaper items, or maybe my notebooks etc weren't as fancy, but kids like me did just fine.
We learned that if you wanted more or better things you had to improve yourself or work harder to get more money.

Today kids in situations like this learn that if one doesn't have as much as another to look to the authority at hand to collect from the whole and redistribute it to the individual. This results in an artificial sense of equality.

It's no wonder we find our selves in the mess we are as a nation. A whole lot of people have been trained to believe that inequalities in wealth can be solved by the government seizing from the haves to give to the have nots.

Claire we don't trust Washington!

I almost felt sorry for Claire as she asked this question. She sounded so plaintive, and even appeared on the verge of tears. But I didn't. She signed up for this! Claire the answer to your question is of course we don't trust you, but don't feel bad, we don't trust anyone in Washington.

To quote a famous "Old School Democrat", Claire if you can't stand the Heat get out of the kitchen!

Once again a national Democrat, when faced with REAL opposition, as well as criticism, plays the role of victim! Well Claire come 2010 you and your fellow Democrats are all going to be victims.

The voters are going to kick you folks out on your keesters. That's right keesters!

Now a word to my Republican and Libertarian friends. If you guys don't take absolutely full advantage of this to put the Liberal Democratic, Socialist Party of America to rest, then God Save America.

Freeeedom!!!

Obama's Townhall Meeting

Well the "messiah" has spoken! And yet again he has proven why we should not take his words at face value. What I watched today-and unfortunately I was unable to watch all of it- was political theater at it's highest. (if you don't read all see video at bottom of page) Urgent poll results from NewsMaxx i got this just after original post go to http://polls.newsmax.com/results/obama.html

In what was billed as a speech before a randomly selected audience, with no pre-screening of the questions, Obama once again assured us the Obama care is not socialized medicine. He also said our present insurance would survive. Give Me a Break!

Just last night blogs all over the place, mine included, were telling the story of how nothing much changes with private pay until 5 years after the beginning of this turkey. What the President cleverly omitted was that after that deadline the relationship between the government, insurers, employers, and workers would change radically.

The most obvious thing about this so-called Town hall metting- was the total lack of any, and I mean, any semblance of protest in the audience. However their appeared to be quite a large crowd of detractors outside of the auditorium.

Obama may think he has the public bamboozled, but any one with a brain can see this man wants nothing less than the obliteration of the free market, replaced by something more fascist than any thing else.

To prove my point Mr. Obama began his address by saying that the current system is broken and that we "must build a New Economy". He went on to say the new economy must work for all the people, and not just for some groups of people. Oh yes once again the old class warfare line.

I don't know about you but in spite of,did you get that, in spite of government meddling the current system has served us quite well. It has given us the highest standard of living in history. It has given us more wealth, goods, and services than the mind can imagine. The problem is people are only now beginning to realise just how good we have had, and albeit to a lesser extent, still do have it!

Yes the old system has really made life in the good ol U'S.of A a living hell(tongue in cheek).
I mentioned earlier there seemed to be know sign of protest but for such a presumed balanced or less than preaching to the choir crowd there sure was a lot of mass chanting of "Yes We Can".

But what really was almost farcical was Obama saying that the situation in Canada was "scary" even to him.
Ha! Ha1 Ha1. Then he proceeded to assure America that the House plan would never turn America into another Canada, Britain or France. How stupid can he think we are?!

this is just another slippery slope once Washington gets it foot in the door it will be all down hill from here.

But in what was perhaps the gem of the entire performance was Obama's answer to the WhiteHouse "enemies list I have included thee video of this exchange and let the video say the rest . Keep fighting and don't give up. Freedom will prevail!

What? A Health Care Commissar!

"Under Lenins Banner We Were, We Will, Be Victorious!

This seems to be the new motto of today's Democrats as well As our President,Vladimir, oops,I mean Barack Hussein Obama. I can't believe the breathtaking number of new bills programs, and government crap, the Liberals in Congress keep bombarding the American People with. I once read that many blogs die rather quickly because their creators ran out of things to talk about.

Not this blogger. I can't even begin to write about all the nonesense and balony this motley crew in Washington keep churning out.

Now according to an article at standbyliberty.com entitled 'Obama's "Reality Check " website needs one of it's own' We soon may be getting a new "Health Commisioner" to head up a new health care commision mandated by Obama care.

Yes it seems our president- Vladimir-oops I mean- Barack Hussien Obama and his fellow comrades on Capitol hill want to not only want to force employers to "insure their employees or face a fine".They also have aspirations of setting a "Federal Standard of what constitutes an approved health care plan".

We were promised by Vladimir-I mean-Barack that we could keep our healthcare if it suited us. Think again according to standbyliberty.comhttp://www.standbyliberty.blogspot.com/ "a five-year grace period all Erisa [Employee Retirement Income Security Act] insurance offerings will have to win government approval—both by the Department of Labor and a new ‘health choices commissioner’ who will set federal standards for what is an acceptable health plan".

The article also quotes Associated Press ABC news that -"Obama's Rhetoric shouldn't be taken literally- which is it Comrade President can we or can we not keep our present insurance if we like it?
Apparently once again the government has decided that they know better what people and companies need ,want, and should do, better than we the people-whom they evidently hold in high contempt-do.

Actually all the Glorious Comrades in Washington including Barack(Vladimir illich)Obama need a "Reality"check.

Keep protesting. Don't give up the fight and as always cry "Freedom"!

An open letter to Nancy Pelosi

Today I wrote an e-mail to Nancy Pelosi taking her to task for referring to right wing protesters as "Violent, angry out of control, carrying swastikas etc, etc. I posted it at mailto:AmericanVoices@mail.house.gov.

I urge any one who reads this post, and is sick and tired of out of control politicians labeling any one who disagrees with them as Nazis, angry blah, blah, blah to do the same. What follows is my letter to Ms. Pelosi. ,

Dear Ms. Pelosi. I am one of the so called angry, violent extremist wild eyed anti health care protesters. I have never been unruly, violent or tried to attack anyone while protesting. No on in any group I have been with has . However we have been sometimes loud and vocal. That is our right as Americans.

When it was your side organizing anti-Bush protest ,that was “patriotic”. When your side likened Bush and Cheney to Nazis and war criminals they were held up as hero's. But when concerned citizens many from all parties get mad at what you and your fellow extremist left wing crack jobs are doing you describe us Like I just described you!.
You only want “civil debate” when it benefits you.

Ms. Pelosi You Are a Tyrant!.

The Beginning of an American Horror Story?

Dateline Washington August,4 2009, the Whitehouse:

'Opponents of health insurance reform may find the truth a little inconvenient, but as our second president famously said, "facts are stubborn things."Scary chain emails and videos are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to "uncover" the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions...'

A short time ago I did a two part series on censorship of freedom of speech in Canada . Little did I think I would be posting this title so soon. But After seeing this post on the Whitehouse web sight I felt compelled to sit down and write this post.

Actually I got MAD! What in the world is this none sense? Its nothing short of crazy! But it doesn't stop there this insane post goes on to say...

People this is chilling. This smacks so hard of potential censorship that it is scary! Hell this is beyond scary it is terrifying!

This CRAP comes on the heels of liberals like Dan Rather calling for a Whitehouse office, commission, or whatever to "Save journalism".

As the teenagers say o.m.g GIVE ME A BREAK! Excuse me for shouting but this has me totally twisted off! Who do these clowns in Washington think they are? Democrats in recent days referred to the TeaParty movement as-well as other opposition movements as "A Mob", "Angry mob", " unwilling to have a reasoned debate", and the list goes on and on.

This sort of stuff is why I started blogging. Well after reading this I shot the Whitehouse, through their address flag@whitehouse.gov the following missive.

'Hey check out www.todayspoliticsfreedomlover.blogspot.com. I run it and I have a lot of stuff their that criticizes health care congress an the president,. Last I checked the first amendment was still in force Try taking care of what’s important rather than being paranoid of the citizens of this country. Eugene O’Neill a.k.a. the freedomlover.' There it is. I turned my self in to the WhiteHouse. I don't care what they like or don't like. Freedom of speech is a cornerstone of this democracy. If these fools think the opposition is bad now. If they keep this up they are going to spark a REAL REVOLUTION.

Evidently Obama, Pelosi and Reid. never studied American history.

Folks if ever their was a time to cry FREEDOM!!!! Its now

Gene O'Neill the Freedomlover.

Common Sense in Washington?

Fianally! It looks as though someone in Washington has come to their senses and is proposing some common sense legislation on health care. Sen John Thune.

Heres what Mr thune has to say   “Our goal should be more choices and lower costs for individuals, families and small businesses".  source: http:// Healthcarefreedomblog.

Lets break this statement down. Mr. Thune starts this quote by saying we should give individuals more freedom of choice as well as lower health care costs. I like this. The foundation of his argument starts with the individual, and not with the government. Some how a great number of folks in Washington seem to think  that the power, freedom and cost, of healthcare should be controlled by the government.

They think the almighty state knows better than the -"common rabble and masses"- how to solve our problems! Nonsense as Ronald Reagan said "Government Is the problem'

Individuals - and not he government- should, in my opinion, have total and complete control of these issues, not some bureacrat! The great patriots of this country knew the people haad a hell of a lot more common sense than any government. Individual citizens are infinitly better able to make healthcare choices and decisions  than the federal government!

He moves on to talk about "families". Clearly Mr. Thune realises that families are the foundation -and backbone- of our society not government. The nuclear familie is the bedrock of any civilization. Any thing, and I mean any thing, that undermines the family, undermines society, and ultimately our freedom.

Sen. Thune wants to reduce costs for business. This is good. If business's are able to save money on healthcare costs, then they are better able, to afford things like capital improvements to expand, and grow their business, as well as increase worker wages and other benefits, and in the final analysis to make money.

I know,I know, someone out there is saying"those evil busines owners just want fatter profits". Well lets face it folks private business exists to make money. I always ask people like that, "would you work for free", this usually shuts them up. Everyone and every business works to make money.

To learn more about this common sense plan visit the website listed above.
Why does Washington always take something that really isn't broken, just in need of a tune up, and destroy it?

John Thunes plan finally brings  a dose of intelligence and sense to Washington!

Its an American Thing!

The Fair Tax. You might be wondering who's behind this? Is it the crazy left wing liberals? Maybe it's the wild eyed extremists on the right? My favorite by the way since I am one:). Or is it those loony libertarians?

Well with apologies to every one I just offended, the answer is non of the above! That's right none of the above. This transcends party. Fairtaxer's don't fit any predetermined mold. We come from all walks of life, rich, poor, upper class, middle class.

Some Own their own business, others work in factories, or in the medical field. No it's pretty hard to pigeonhole fair tax folk. Like the tea party protesters we represent a broad cross section of America, liberal, conservative, libertarian and everything in between.

That is what the fair tax is all about. It's an American thing, and , not about politics at all. It's about taking back control of our government, and returning power back to the people-and not the pols-where it belongs.

It's about keeping more of what is ours and not "spread the wealth" If you are sick and tired of the politicians in Washington burning YOUR money then the Fair Tax is for you.

If your tired of the attitude amongst our so called representatives that our substance is theirs not ours. Then the Fair Tax is for you.

If you just want to see this country return to the principles of freedom, liberty, and individual initiative upon which it was founded, then by all means go to http://www.fairtax.org/ today and sign up, volunteer, or contribute, so that our children will have a chance to live as free men and women!

Oh by the way it's time to demand: Freedom!

Bail out Mania!

Oh my God! I'm still not sure I want this picture on my site.

However it seems our old friend Dan Rather wants the government to intervene, and "save" journalism!

Lets take a look at Dan-in his own words- if you will.

Rather proposed a special White House commission to research a viable future for the media
http://www.mediaite.com/online/dan-rather-believes-that-obama-should-prop-up-the-mainstream-media/

A special White House Commission? Let me see here. Did the founders of this Great country put a White House committee for the media-or whatever- in the Constitution? NO! And not just No! But Hell No!

This smacks of a call for censorship. If the -quote unquote- "Traditional Media"- i.e in our time worn out liberal rags -can't make it in the modern world TO BAD!

This is about free market principles. If people like your product, they buy it,if they don't ,they go somewhere else.

Well guess what, for some time now people have CHOSEN to go somewhere else. They have decided to go to the blogosphere, they have chosen talk radio, they have chosen Fox News.

To sum it up people are sick and tired of the worn out nonsense, and outright propaganda of the so-called "Mainstream Media". They're tired of the lies, the bias, and the hypocrisy!
They're tired of liberal talking heads claiming to be "unbiased" when they clearly have a left wing agenda.

If you doubt this, look at the "love fest" the liberal media has going on for Obama!

People are tired of this crap! At least Fox news, Talk Radio, and Conservative bloggers admit they have a bias.

Take me for example I'm unabashedly biased toward the right. For myself I would have a lot more respect for these fools if they would just come clean and say "I'm a liberal and damn proud of it".

Conservatives aren't afraid to let the world know where they stand! Libs should start being proud and honest that they are libs. Otherwise they're just liars.

Bottom line new technologies have come along. People have alternatives to print media. Either they adapt and survive, or they die!

At one time we had people who made wagons. They made fine products, but one day a new product came to town, the car. People loved it and Detroit was born.

The wagon makers either started making cars or they went out of business.

The last thing we need is a government bailout of the media. And we darn sure don't need Washington telling me and you what to read or write!!!

End of story. Freedom!

Fair Tax, Its Time for Real Change!

"Compliance with the tax code is not only very difficult and complicated, consuming a total of 6 billion hours, but unreasonably expensive as well. It is estimated that it costs taxpayers $265.1 billion for tax filing, tax record keeping, and tax reduction advice. That's just shy of $900 for every man, woman, and child in America! We have taxation without comprehension..."

Remember the song by John Lennon "Imagine" In it Lennon say's things like imagine there's no heaven"-which by the way I don't want to do-and war etc etc. But what if there were no I.R.S.?

Imagine if you can an America with no income, payroll, corporate, death, or capital gains taxes!
Well as Louis Armstrong sang, "What a wonderfull world it would be".

Unfortunately we're not there yet, but we could one day, be if every taxpayer that despises taxes -and I have yet to meet one that did'nt- would get behind, and support, the FairTax.

One of the first questions I asked when I first heard of the FairTax was what does this do and how does it benefit me and my family?

Well heres the answer:
This plan allows you to keep 100% of your paycheck-excluding any deductions such as savings or insurance you have elected to take out-and gives you more money in your pocket.

Imagine how the extra cash in your pocket could benefit you, your family, or even your community, if your the charitable sort.

Here's one of the best things the fair tax does, and read this carefully, IT ABOLISHES THE TAX CODE AND THE I.R.S.!!! Now that's something worth shouting about.

Imagine a new tax code,or law, actually that would make every American, and every company, pay their fair share of taxes. Well folks thats what the FairTax does.

Intrigued? Then click on the Fair Tax logo on the right side of this page or click the link below to learn even more of the great things the FairTax does.

A Canadian Horror Story Part 2

Freedom of speech-one of the hallmarks of a free society-is under attack in our neighbor to the north. Check out the link above. It will take you to FreeDominion a sister site to FreeRepublic in the States.

As I shared in part 1 of "A Canadian Horror Story" it seems if you have views or opinions contrary to the government it may well be that the authorities will try to make your life a living hell!

This really has me shook. I know the U.S and Canada are different cultures, but we are both Americans-as in North America- and we both share a common ancestry and heritage of freedom of political thought.

In the United States our Revolution was fomented and led by individuals who would publish what were called "broadsides" these were sheets of paper printed on one side. Those who published broadside often used them for poetry and other literary works. However the broadsides were also used to tell the news as well as expound political thought and even revolutionary propaganda.

Broadsides were heavily used during the American Revolution ,The Anti-Slavery Movement, as well as the Temperance movement.

Well my friends broadsides WERE the Internet and blogospheres of their day. During the American Revolution it was dangerous to publish them and could actually lead to being hung for treason! That's why after the Revolution Our founding fathers enshrined freedom of speech in the Constitution.

But like our Canadian friends there are many in America who would silence thought and opinions they don't agree with. Consider how the Dems are threatening to reinstate the so called "Fairness Doctrine" !

Would a blogger have to print a liberal opinion or point of view for every conservative post?

Or perhaps the libs along with the News organizations will want to PASS LAWS TO SHUT US DOWN BECAUSE WE'RE NOT LICENSED JOURNALISTS!

Or maybe we'll be charged with hate crimes. At any rate go to the link above, read about what's happening in Canada. Folks if it can happen there it can happen here.

Will The Show Me State Be First to Show The Way on The Fair Tax?

"Show Me: Simplicity, Transparency, and Fairness". This is the Motto of MOFairTax.org This picture of Ed Robb former 24th district Rep. for Boone County Missouri. Ed is one of the original co-sponsors of the Missouri Fair Tax bill.

Unfortunately Mr. Robb was voted out of office and replaced by current 24th District Rep. Chris Kelly in the last election. Kelly , once elected, supported a similar bill, which was passed in the House of the Missouri General Assembly, and was set to come out of committee in the state Senate when the Assembly adjourned earlier this year.

As it stands now the Missouri Fair Tax bill stands an excellent chance of becoming law within the next two years!

Here is the great thing about the Fair Tax. It eliminates Income,Payroll, Corporate taxes, as well as Capital Gains taxes and Death taxes. The Fair Tax replaces them with a National sales tax.

Bottom line Prices go down, every one has more money in their pockets and America becomes the most attractive place in the world to do business. This will result in an economic boom of unprecedented proportions.

This weekend I spent three hours volunteering to work in the Fair Tax booth at the Boone County Fair in Columbia Missouri. I had a great time and met a good group of great Missourians.

While there an activist from the Boone County Republicans booth came down and educated us about the Save Our Secret Ballot initiative. This would guarantee the right of workers voting to unionize, to vote by secret ballot, it also makes sure political elections are protected as well.

The folks shown above are some of the great Americans I had the privilege of working with this weekend . This is what Freedom is all about!

A Canadian Horror Story

We've been told by the Obama administration, as well as most of the Democratic party, that we need to be more like Canada, France and England, and follow their lead into "socialized" medicine!

Well I'm not so sure. Originally I set out to post a commentary on the Canadian health care system -especially since we've been told- by the liberals- that we need a Canadian style health care system.

But what I found in my searches on the net was terrifying and chilling. I found information about the "Canadian Human Rights Commission". If there ever was a misnomer this is it. I found search results that said people had been jailed for writing letters disagreeing with the government or for that matter just writing politically incorrect opinions.

Yes you heard me right, jailed for dissent. Their only crime was expressing an opinion contrary to political correctness. As bad as socialized medicine probably is up there-and I don't want to find out what it would be like here- this is the Real Horror story!

Here's what I found...

"Today, the outspoken voice of the workingman, Brad Love was released from prison on bail conditions his own lawyer, Peter Lindsay suggested are more usually imposed on people facing murder charges. Mr. Love is accused of five counts of writing letters, contrary to his previous parole condition.

Furthermore this article went on to state that...

One of the Crown’s reasons for wanting Mr. Love kept in prison pending his trial, which Peter Lindsay said might not occur for six to nine months, is that he has not changed his political views.

Say what ? A man is sitting in jail in Canada because he refuses to change his political views! I was under the impression that Canada is a free country. Evidently not as free as I thought.
This is what a Canadian Blog "Freedominion" reports about Mr. Love...

"In an interview with Café tonight, Mr. Love, settling down after enjoying his first decent meal in five days explained the writings that have stirred the powers that be to send him back to prison. He wrote taunting comments to the York University Student Union, B’nai Brith and the Canadian Jewish Congress on the occasion of Israel Equals Apartheid Week. Among his comments were: If all these Third World people are against Zionism, maybe they’re right. He also wondered in his letters whether Third Worlders demonstrating against Zionism would be called racists. Brad Love told CAFÉ: “Many of the comments I made I borrowed from Jewish comedians.”

This my friends is a pretty sad state of affairs. What makes it worse -if it can get any worse- is that the liberals ,and Democrats, in this country are saying we should be more like Canada. And they are also the ones pushing for hate speech laws as well as so called Human rights commissions in this country!

Folks if after this health care nonsense they start pushing anti-hate legislation -even more than they have already-we may be in for a fight. Canadian Brad Love is already fighting this in his country here's what he had to say...

"“It’s because it’s a thought crime,” Mr. Love commented ...

I first found this story at a blooger site ran by Marc Lemire http://blog.freedomsite.org/2009/03/political-prisoner-brad-love-may-not.html

He ends his article with theses poignant words...

“It seems the state is intent on shutting Brad Love up,” Paul Fromm observed. “What does it say about the emotional fragility of the powers that be that they can’t withstand a little needling and criticism from a blunt spoken working guy, without running to the State to have him gagged and jailed? And we’re over in Afghanistan trying to bring democracy and human rights to those people. We ought to start right here in Canada.”

Look for more on this story in upcoming posts.

We need to cry "Freedom " for Brad Love!

LoL Obama Chia Pet! HA HA HA HA

Here it is the Obama Chia. The other night I was watching an extreme sports show on MTV when this commercial came on for the "Obama Chia" pet.

I couldn't believe my eyes-or ears for that matter- this was probably the cheesiest commercial I ever saw! At first I thought "what the hell" is this a joke?

Now I know this is probably old news but I don't watch a lot of tv and anyway I had missed this one. As the commentator came on he said something about celebrate 'Liberty, Diversity, something I can't remember, and hope!

I practically choked! This President is supposed to be the poster boy for Liberty? This guy is somewhere to the left of Joseph Stalin for crying out loud!!

As far as prosperity. I don't know about you, but as for me, I'm afraid it may be years before we see a return to real prosperity if Barack and his minions in Congress have their way.

And what of hope? Until their gone I won't hold out much hope for any of our futures.

(Soviet National Anthem playing in background) Welcome to the Soviet Socialist Republic of North America Comrade!

Stimulus We Can believe In!

The liberty bell. What a symbol of American freedom. That's what this blog is all about, freedom. The democrats in congress have billed themselves as the guardian's of freedom, Barack said he would bring us economic freedom and social justice, together they forced through a so called stimulus that has done absolutely nothing to advance the cause of freedom or economic stimulus!

Enter "American Solutions, for winning the future". the democrats keep accusing conservatives of criticizing but not having solutions. Well here is a site , connected with Newt Gingrich, that offers real solutions to the problems we currently face.

Chief among these solutions-there's twelve by the way-is a proposal for "Payroll Stimulus". What would this do? Well according to the American Solutions "Take Action"Page this "Payroll Stimulus" would...

"Reduce the Payroll Tax by 50% for Two Years. Whereas many people don't pay the income tax, but do pay the payroll tax, we believe this would immediately boost take home pay for every employee, and free up available cash for every employer."

Although I prefer the Fair Tax- which totally eliminates payroll, income, and corporate taxes-any tax break is better than no tax break. Especially one that puts more cash into the pockets of the people who drive this economy. The American worker.

If I had a fifty percent reduction in what I pay in payroll taxes-and this should include medicare and, social security as well as federal taxes- who knows I might be able to by a new car, or refrigerator, or whatever. Multiply this by millions of workers and shazamm you have real stimulus and the beginning of recovery.

America It's time to wake up and demand that those who supposedly represent us in Washington act on proposals like this. And in a special note to the Republican Party if you don't adopt a platform similar to the American Solutions platform you will probably not retake control of Congress and America will have lost again.

A nationwide Castle Protection Law. We need this now!

From time to time I like to go the Library of Congress web site http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.html and check out some of the proposed legislation in Congress. The other day I found this little bill on their spot. It's called H.R.17 and it deals with self protection in one's own home.

Here in Missouri we have a law referred to as the Castle law. What this law does is allow a homeowner to use deadly force against anyone who breaks into their house and is threatening their family.

I see H.R 17 as a National version of Missouri's Castle Law. If enacted this law would "protect the right to obtain firearms for security, and to use firearms in defense of self, family, or home, and to provide for the enforcement of such right".

When a similar law was passed in Missouri I was taken by supprise. I thought I already had the right to use a gun to protect my home and family. But in truth if the situation had arose I might well have been charged with a crime.

This is a problem nationwide. Honest citizens trying to protect what is theirs are routinely subjected to criminal prosecution. Just take a look at this quote from H.R 17

"Ronald Biggs, a resident of Goldsboro, North Carolina, was arrested for shooting an intruder in 1990. Four men broke into Biggs' residence one night, ransacked the home and then assaulted him with a baseball bat. When Biggs attempted to escape through the back door, the group chased him and Biggs turned and shot one of the assailants in the stomach. Biggs was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon--a felony. His assailants were charged with misdemeanors."

This sort of thing is outrageous, but wait, it doesn't stop there...

"Don Campbell of Port Huron, Michigan, was arrested, jailed, and criminally charged after he shot a criminal assailant in 1991. The thief had broken into Campbell's store and attacked him. The prosecutor plea-bargained with the assailant and planned to use him to testify against Campbell for felonious use of a firearm. Only after intense community pressure did the prosecutor finally drop the charges".

The prosecutor was actually going to use the CRIMINAL to testify against the VICTIM!
I practically choked when I first read that one. Folks this is the state of our country. Victims are charged with crimes while the perpetrators go free, get reduced sentences, or even win awards in law suits.

This is America today folks. As they say you can't make this stuff up. 60, 75 ,100 years ago this wouldn't have even been needed but not today. All I can do is shake my head when I think about it. Here is some real. practical , legislation, that is badly needed in an age when not an hour goes by that there is not a home invasion, burglary, or rape in a citizens home.

In the meantime all the Democrats in Congress can think of is TAX TAX TAX and GUN CONTROL. Time for people to demand legislation like this be moved forward and passed into law.

A gun toting Freedomlover.

Claire McCaskills true colors shining through or just a case of a stupid staffer?

While checking out one of my favorite blogs-The Patriot Room-This article caught my eye "Sen McCaskill staff give HC protesters the finger!"

On the page from the articles website there was a link to blog called "The Gatewaypundit". i stills was in a state of shock and disbelief just from reading the headline. At a time when congressional approval is at an all time low how could McCaskill approve of this kind of behavior?

Then I asked my self could this be an indication of Claire's attitude toward constituents that don't agree with her? I don't know. What I do know is that a few weeks ago I e-mailed Ms. McCaskill's office to urge her not to support cap and trade and never got a responding e-mail from her. About that same time I e-mailed some other congress people and did receive the automatic computer generated response.

Could this incident be McCaskills true colors shining through? Is this a reflection of the culture and atmosphere she has cultivated in the staff that work For her? For my part I want to believe that it was just a thoughtless act by a stupid staffer.

However it does call attention to what seems to be a disturbing trend by Democratic office holders toward holding anyone who disagrees with them in contempt! Don't they read the newspaper or keep an eye on the blogosphere? Seems not or else they might begin to figure out that Obamacare stinks to high heaven with the American people.

As a constituent of Ms. McCaskill I would like to remind her that the "People"-as in "We the People"- are her boss! We hired her-well I didn't I voted against her-we can fire her.

Their is something terribly wrong in Washington that seems to breed contempt in our elected officials for the people that they are there to serve us.

Well come 2010 I feel sure many of them will be packing their carpet bags for other diggs.

As for me I fully intend to vote against anyone with a D behind their last name!

People it's time to shout FREEDOM NOW!

The End of Common Sense

"O ye that love mankind! Ye that dare oppose, not only the tyranny, but the tyrant, stand forth! Every spot of the old world is overrun with oppression. Freedom hath been hunted round the globe. Asia, and Africa, have long expelled her. — Europe regards her like a stranger, and England hath given her warning to depart. O! receive the fugitive, and prepare in time an asylum for mankind."

These are the last words in the great work by Thomas Paine "Common Sense". He challenges those who love mankind to oppose not only tyranny but also the tyrant. Today's politics are full of tyranny and the tyrant is not one, but many. Queen Nancy Pelosi is one said tyrant who proposes a new 50 percent tax on the wealthiest Americans Prince Harry Reid is another such tyrant. These so called politicians care not about the people or this country, they care only about their own power. These two -along with the anointed one Obama- have declared nothing less than economic war on America.

Every day they put forth an idea about a new tax, or how they can provide health care, or control the economy. This President and his minions in Congress seem to be hellbent on destroying the greatest economic and democratic system the world has ever known.

The so called Czars that this President has appointed seek to control and direct every aspect of business, commerce, and ultimately the entire economy, all without ever having been confirmed by congress or voted on by the people. Where is the provision for this in the Constitution?

I'll tell you where it's at it in the pits of hell. The current crowd in Washington have chosen to ignore the Constitution, the people, and ultimately common sense. Here we are in the middle of the worst economic depression in almost 30 years, and these idiots want to raise taxes on the so called "rich" and every one else for that matter. It will be the rich today, and the pauper tomorrow. I'm not a rich man but the dogs already are stealing too much of my hard earned money.

The wealthiest among us are the ones who create jobs. What sense does it make in the middle of recession to tax the hell out of them, and everyone else! No my friends common sense is at an end and true justice lies dead in the streets.

Thomas Jefferson said "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing". Now is the time my friends for the real people of this country to stand up and raise there voices as one and to say to theses would be tyrants and dictators that enough is enough!

Contact your congressmen and representatives and tell them in no uncertain terms that if they continue down this path there will be a revolution at the ballot box and their sorry a---'s will be voted out of Washington.

FREEDOM!

More Common Sense

"As my wish was to serve an oppressed people, and assist in a just and good cause, I conceived that the honor of it would be promoted by my declining to make even the usual profits of an author."
Thomas Paine on refusing to collect royalties on Common Sense and donating all proceeds to the Continental Army.

"The Sun never shined on a cause of greater worth. 'Tis not the affair of a City, a County, a Province, or a Kingdom; but of a Continent — of at least one-eighth part of the habitable Globe. 'Tis not the concern of a day, a year, or an age; posterity are virtually involved in the contest"

This is what Thomas Paine thought of the contest we call -The Revolution- which pitted a small and very weak 13 Colonies against the greatest power in Europe. he knew that what lay in the Balance was the future of freedom, as well as, the future of not only American generations yet to be born, but also of untold millions world wide.

Today though not convulsed in a revolution against an out side colonial power, we are witnessing a form of socialist revolution the likes of which this country has never seen.

Not a day goes by but what some new plan for government -if not outright taking over some sector of the economy or aspect of American life-it is at least proposed that the government control be placed over it to an extent that would daze the founders.

There still is no greater cause than freedom and I believe this country was meant to lead the world to freedom. What is happening in this country today is indeed the affair of an entire continent and will have profound effects upon future generations of Americans as well as generations all over the world.

We have strayed so far from our original principles that if something is not done to stop this present madness I fear we may be witnessing the death of freedom. This country was not founded on the proposition that the "government can do it better". It was founded on the ideal that if the government would get out of the way, allow the people to have their own wealth and decide their own destiny, they, the people would do all things better than any government!

Government was seen as a necessary evil not to try to decide, tax, and control every aspect of society and life, but to provide the basic protections that a civilized society needed. Being legal protections to keep social order and peace-as well as-protection of God given rights. A further purpose of government was to provide for the defense of the people and create a climate for the betterment and improvement of society. It was never intended to be a nanny to wipe our noses clean our diapers and tell us what to do in every corner of our lives.

Indeed Paine's words ring as true today as they did when they were written "

'Tis not the concern of a day, a year, or an age; posterity are virtually involved in the contest, and will be more or less affected even to the end of time..."

A Return To "Common Sense"

It seems to me that what America needs today -and needs badly- is a return to good old "Common Sense". during the revolutionary period pamphleteers and broadsiders were the equivalent of today's blogger and perhaps one of the most influential of those pamphleteers was Thomas Pain and his "Common Sense".

In the first chapter of Common sense Paine has this to day about government..."Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.

Our government has been a necessary evil but in its present state -especially in light of the recent tax proposals out of Washington- this government is quickly becoming an intolerable evil.

The left and left wing politicians such as Nancy Pelosi seem unable to comprehend the fact that a growing number of Americans are getting mad as hell and aren't willing to take it any more. Witness the Tea-Party movement.

Here's what Queen Nancy had to say about this grassroots movement..."This tea party initiative is funded by the high end — we call call it astroturf, it’s not really a grassroots movement. It’s astroturf by some of the wealthiest people in America to keep the focus on tax cuts for the rich instead of for the great middle class."

She's claiming that this congress is not going to tax the middle class and yet this congress has raised taxes on cigarettes, is considering an additional tax on alcohol, health benefits, and lets not forget cap and tax. These taxes will have a significant impact on the middle class especially cap and tax, which even Obama admits- will cause energy prices to sky rocket.

Pain goes on to say... "I draw my idea of the form of government from a principle in nature which no art can overturn, viz. that the more simple any thing is, the less liable it is to be disordered, and the easier repaired when disordered..."

Our government started out in a relatively simple form -and stayed that way for over one hundred and fifty years- until the New Deal when there was an explosion of new government programs and bureaucracies.

We had another huge explosion of this madness in the sixties and I'm afraid we're having another explosion of this socialist madness today. Paine as well as all the founding fathers would be mortified to see what has become of their dream of limited government.

Today's government has become a bloated behemoth, and the politicians that populate the halls of congress and the Anointed one in the White house, seem to think their are no limits to how much power they can seize to themselves, and no limit on how much they can oppress the American people.

Yes it seems to me our country has a great need to return to the ideals of our founders and the Common Sense of writers such as Thomas Pain. This week I am devoting my posts to more expositions from this awesome work Common Sense.
