Herman Cain may well be out of the Presidential horse race but his 9-9-9 tax proposal is not.

It is high time for people of all political persuasions to demand real solutions from our elected officials in Washington.
I have spoken here in the past about tax reform. In particular the Fair Tax.
If you consider yourself a Tea Party person-or are just plain tired of the tax code mess-then you need to get behind this proposal!

We all need to demand from ALL the candidates that they get behind this simple,common sense,and truly progressive idea for reforming the way we do taxes in America.

Now some have said that Cain's 9-9-9 plan for tax reform won't work. To that I say bullony! It worked out pretty well in Russia. Yep thats right Russia! And not only Russia but about 19 nations in total have instituted flat taxes,and, in most cases they have had good success with them.

Maybe a flat tax will work in America,maybe it won't,but I think it is well worth a try. It is my opinion that if we could let every American keep more of his or her own money that is a good thing.

If we can reduce corporate rates to 10 percent this country becomes a very attractive place for manufacturers to come and do business,and if ,you add in a flat national sales tax on new goods then everybody gets skin in the game because even people in the underground economy start paying taxes

Outrage in New York: Former Marine's second amendment rights violated.

I found this today over at "The Blaze .com" it's a story of a former Marine who was arrested-and imprisoned- while visiting New York City!

Apparently this young man is a loyal,honest,law abiding citizen, whom the city of New York has decided is a threat to society!!

According to the article on the Blaze...

"It has not been lost on the public that a man who is both highly trained with weapons, and highly trusted by Uncle Sam, would now face several years in prison for an honest mistake with absolutely no negative outcome. Nobody was injured, nothing was damaged — it does not appear that anyone at the site of the incident was even particularly alarmed."

Yeah you read that right this young man faces at least 3and 1/2 years in prison! Why because he carried a licensed handgun into the Empire State building. As he was buying a ticket to the building he realized he was still packing a handgun and sought to check his gun in-when he did so-he was subsequently arrested and spent two days in the slammer for nothing more than exercising his Second Amendment rights under the Constitution

It seems this young man is a jeweler who was carrying gold to New York to be melted down by a gold refiner.
He was carrying a licensed gun for personal protection. Well hell yeas if i were to go to New York with gold I would want a little protection myself.

What really ticks me off about this story is that this man is a third generation Marine,highly trained in the use of firearms,trusted by the government of these United States,as well as, someone who has honorably serves these United States.

This is nothing short of an outrage. The second amendment clearly spells out the right of citizens to "HAVE and BEAR arms" hello! How much longer will the people of these United States tolerate having their rights trampled underfoot by theses politically correct assholes?

Perhaps if New York City-and the entire east coast- would respect the Constitution maybe, just maybe, there would not be the level of crime and violence that plagues that part of the country.

Well, well, well, the lame stream media is at it again. Yes the meisters of spin are in overdrive twisting and taking out of context the words of Mitt Romney who said"I like to fire people".

It was all over the morning shows...
"Romney makes mistake on campaign trail"
or some drivel like that. Give me a break by now we all know Mitt was talking about firing his insurance company!

This is what's wrong-not with politics-but journalism! Instead of just reporting the story in its context and allowing people to decide for themselves they chose to try to fool people into thinking Mitt loves nothing better than to fire working people and then laugh at their misfortune.

What intellectual dishonesty! For the sake of full disclosure I admit right here that I am no fan of Mitt Romney. I think he is a great guy,a good upright moral man,but,I don't want him to be President. With that said neither can I sit idly by while the media distort what Romney said. in regards to insurance companies he was saying he likes to have the choice not to retain their services.

Hell who doesn't. If the restaurant I go to doesn't serve me well I'll go somewhere else. Oh my God I just fired that establishment!

Come to think of it it is the same in the real world-as I heard on the radio today- haven't we all worked wit h some jerk we wish we could fire?

Its time we be honest with each other we all like to fire people. I like to fire people and I can think of three people I would really like to fire,Barack Obama,Harry Reid,and Nancy Pelosi and if I have to vote for Romney for that to happen, I will! I know Mitt will like firing them now lets see if our other candidates want to too.

Herman is inspiring,defiant, and sounding a rallying call for all true conservatives to stand up and be counted!
Cain say's "We the people are coming and we want our power back".

Well said Herman. We the people are sick and tired of politicians who think they can manipulate us. Who think that we are just pawns in their power game!

The sleeping giant of the American populace is indeed awake and we want real change. Not the phony change of the Obama regime but the change that will come when we return to the founding principles of this great republic.

Cain calls for a revolution,for history to repeat,in other words for We The People to stand up and let All the politicians, both left and right, that it is We The People who call the shots.

His is a clarion call for all those who love this country to put our elected officials on notice that real change in this country comes from the bottom up not the top down!

We don't need a nanny state telling us what is good for us. Rather we demand a government that will respond to the will of We The People!

Bowed down with the wight of concern

That is how I feel bowed under the burden of concern I have for our nation. The recent events with OWS-as well as-the shannigans of Berry and the Dems in Congress show that this country is on a headlong "progressive" course to European style socialism!

These are perilous times. Our economy remains in shambles,Europe is on the brink of economic collapse,and China is rising, and,yet Berry and his minions dawdle and do nothing but propose more of the socialist nonsense that got us here.

We -the conservative movement-need a candidate with the principles and philosophy of Ronald Reagan. And yet -since Cain was forced out -I see no one,absolutely no one,who fits the Bill.

Mitt Romney supported socialized,mandated, insurance as Governor. His tax program does not contain any real reform, he seems to be just telling people what he thinks they want to hear,and, in my opinion ,he comes off a little phony. In short he is a prepackaged box of marketed soap!

Ron Paul? one word Crazy!

Rick Santorum: Hah! He doesn't appear to stand a chance at this time.

Bachman: Really solid conservative-as well as Tea Party candidate-but not ready for Prime time.

As for Gingrich. He is nothing more than a Conservative Progressive and he will always favor big government over smaller limited government period.

The rest don't even deserve mention. So where do we go from here? Prayer. It seems that is the only solution left. Pray that God will raise up a person who will stand up for individual freedom, reform taxes,stand for a strong United States,and seek to limit the power and scope of government.

P.S. A short word about Herman Cain. I sincerely wish he would reignite his campaign. I was appalled at the savagery of the coordinated liberal attack against Cain. These women that were trotted out were nothing more than a political assassination team.

Their disingenous claims that they were not politically motivated is hogwash!

Once again America has been robbed by the liberal political/media machine of an opportunity to have a truly great President.

So says 2012 Presidential hopeful Herman Cain. Cain is a true American. A man cut in the mold of Ronald Reagan! Like Reagan, Herman comes from humble circumstances. Ronald Reagan came from a struggling poor white family in the great depression. Cain came from a struggling poor black family in the same time period.

Both men, convinced that in America you can achieve anything, grabbed the bull by the horns, and took control of their own destiny! They didn't see their poverty as a hindrance, but rather a strength that propelled them forward to success.

Both men had a strong and abiding faith in the truth of America; that anyone can achieve what they dream if they are willing to work, persevere, and believe!

9/11 Remembered: Ten Years Later

What a wonderful late August day I enjoyed today! Humidity low,temp in the 80's,clear blue bowl sky,very much like that fateful day,Sept.11,2001, when our world changed,and,life would never be the same.

This afternoon I finally came inside and logged online and found some really good articles about 9/11. What struck me most-as well as angered me-is how much progress has been made -not only at Ground Zero- but in the War on Terror as well-and the M.S.M. isn't saying a damned thing about it!

Consider for example this link 9/11 Memorial Site at Ground Zero. I was astounded by how much progress has been made in rebuilding the W.T.C. complex and memorial-and yet-I haven't seen anything on N.B.C,C.B.S,or A.B.C, about it! Why? Why haven't theses networks-that claim to be "news organizations" been having regular updates on the progress at "Ground Zero"?

As I pondered this-with tears in my eyes- I actually became angry. It seems to me that many of these "so-called" journalists want you and me to forget what happened on that horrific day back in 2001. They want us to forget that we were attacked by a band of Islamic Fascists who would see us all dead,they want us to forget about the strong and determined leadership of our -then President-George W.Bush, and they want us to be kept in the dark about the progress we have made -not only in rebuilding the W.T.C-but also in the "War on Terror"!

Take a moment to think about this,since 9/11 we have deposed Saddam Hussein, we liberated Iraq and have given them a chance to forge their own Democracy, we have stomped Al-Qaeda into the ground across the globe,and most of all cut the head off the Al-Qaeda snake,by killing Osama Ben Laden may he rot in hell!

At the site of the World trade center we have made substantial progress in rebuilding-as well as memorializing-that tragic event. We have seen the Arab world respond the George W. Bush's call to seek Democracy, in Egypt, Syria,Libya and other places. This is a repudiation of the Al-Qaeda doctrine that freedom and democracy are incompatible with Islam!

While Bush was President we were asked time and time again what victory in the war on terrorism would look like. I say it looks a lot like what we are witnessing today!

We have driven Al-Qaeda to their knees, we have witnessed the Arab spring,and we are showing the dogs who attacked us on Sept.11,2001,that we will rebuild,we will fight,and we will prevail.

Well it seems our President Barack Hussien Obama seems to think that we need to "up our game"!

Well, I say, Washington needs to up its game!! We the people have the drive, the foresight,and innovation to get the job done.

What we need is for clowns like Obama, Reid,and Pelosi to get out of the way and let the creative genius and force of the American people have it's way.

We need Washington to quit thinking they can control the economy with taxes,=regulations,and, sigh,Obama care, and get out of the way and let America work like this nation was intended to work.

What we need is for Washington to up it's game and allow our oil companies to drill in Anwar,in the Gulf,and off both coasts. We need these clowns to cut spending and corporate-as well as-individual taxes!

In short it is time for our Government to go back to providing a stable and safe place for people to work and business to flourish rather than try to micro manage every aspect of our national life!

The Old Soviet union tried that nonsense and all they did was destroy their nation and fail miserably!!

Beware the coming zombi Apocalypse!

Put this done under truth being stranger than fiction. In what can only be termed a bizarre-yet creatively funny-post at the CDC's blog "Public Health Matters" assistant Surgeon General Ali S Khan explores the possibility of a coming "Zombie Apocalypse" and gives guidelines for surviving a zombie disaster.
Much of it is just plain old fashioned common sense ideas for any disaster it does however contain a breif but informative "History of Zombies,a preparedness plan,as well as,a link to your very own survival kit from the CDC.

Quite often we criticize bureaucrats for their lack of imagination but I have to say I find this a funny breath of fresh air from one of those bureaucrats we love to make fun of!
One thing I did notice in all the great advice for surviving a zombie attack was the lack of any advice about weaponry. I guess that's in keeping with the liberal orthodoxy about guns and such that we are all to well acquainted with.
However there is a link in the article to a Wikipedia entry called "The Zombie Survival Guide" that does advise using M1 carbines and other weapons for self defense against the blood drinking brain eating monsters

That's right folks Big Brother is watching you-not only is he watching he is winning-yes big Brother is alive and well right here in the good o'l U.S.of A.!

Why do I say this? Why do I make such an outlandish claim? Because of this outrage that I have learned about in Indiana. An outrage against your Constitutional rights-and-the Constitution itself.

It seems that the Indiana Supreme court has decided that....

"In a 3-2 decision, Justice Steven David writing for the court said if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner cannot do anything to block the officer’s entry."

What? an officer can enter my home for "any reason or no reason at all"?!! This is an outrage!! As far as blocking the officers entry that is a mute point. This court has decided that the cops can enter your home for any or no reason WITHOUT a WARRANT. Hell if your not home to block their entry-which this court has decided you can't do anyway-the way I read it they still would have the right to ENTER your home!!!

This is EXACTLY the kind of bulls%$t by government that prompted the framers of the Constitution to put in the fourth amendment to that great document which says ....

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Did you notice the part about "unreasonable" searches?? The framers intended that law enforcement have a "reason" to enter your home,and,that they obtain the permission of a judge to do it!!

It does NOT say that the police can "enter your home for any reason or no reason at all"

Usama bin Laden dead oohrahh!!

What wonderful news! Usama bin Laden dead!! I almost did a jig when I heard the news this morning. One of the first thought s that came to mind was that this is reason for jubilation and celebration,and,soon enough I saw the footage of Americans celebrating this great victory in the war against Al Qaeda.

The second thing that came to mind was the song from the wizard of Oz about "the wicked old witch is dead" except I was thinking it ha ha the bastards' dead the wicked old bastards'.

Finally- at long last- George Bush's promise that bin laden would be brought to justice has been brought to fruition.Yes Obama was at the helm,and gave the final order to kill bin laden,but,make no mistake this would not have happened without the commitment,determination,and dogged persistence of all our military,and, intelligence assets that were ordered into action by then President George W.Bush.

Bush was relentless in his pursuit of Al-Qaeda all over the world-and ironically-was opposed in his desire to take the fight to Al-Qaeda by the one who has sought to take credit for getting bin laden-Barack Obama.

I do give credit to Barack Obama for at least coming to his senses and realizing that this diseased maniac needed to be taken out. I applaud the fact that he gave the order to go for it,and, I especially applaud our brave Navy Seals for pulling this operation off with no American casualties despite one helicopter malfunctioning and having to be blown up. Job very well done to all involved!

Speaker Boehner! Now is not the time to capitulate!

As the Democrats in Congress continue to dig in their hind legs like jackasses-and refuse to give any real concessions to their Republican counterparts-it appears Speaker Boehner may be ready to capitulate to Harry-The Tea Party are radical extremists-Reid! To this I say now is not the time to capitulate!!

Mr. Boehner the Democrats when they controlled Congress never gave one inch to the demands of compromise from you and your colleagues.
They locked Republicans out of committee meetings on health care,they refused to listen to you about budget cuts,they continually stonewalled you folks at every turn in short they never compromise on anything whether they be in the majority or minority!

It's high time that you as Speaker and the house Republicans stand your ground and settle for nothing less than what we have sent you to do cut the 100 billion from the budget as you and your Republican colleagues promised!
As your compromise bill now stands we will only see a 23 billion dollar cut down from the 60 billion your bill that passed the house promised to give. What ever happened to "cut,cut,cut" the budget?

Compromise with Harry Reid will be very costly to you personally,and,conservatives in general. We the people are watching and will remember during the next election cycle which people stood their ground and fought for fiscal sanity and those who chose to compromise with those who would spend this nation into oblivion.

It is high time to go toe to toe with Harry Reid.-Reid claims to have once been a boxer though as wimpy as he looks and sounds I have a hard time believing it-and deliver to him a knock out blow. If the Democrats want to shut down the government let them do it and then put the blame squarely on their shoulders!

Don't cave into them Mr. Speaker,instead,make them blink for a change,force them to back peddle on their promises,make them compromise their principles,and instead, force them back to the table and demand they at least meet your demands for a 60 billion drop in the bucket cut to our national budget!, ,in short Mr. Speaker DO NOT Capitulate!

Fukushima nuclear disaster now a meltdown.

In an earlier post I expressed the misgivings,and,trepidations,about nuclear power that the disaster in Fukushima have raised in my mind. Now comes word that -at least one-and possibly more- rector cores have melted through their steel containment vessels!

According to the U.K Guardian....

"The radioactive core in a reactor at the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant appears to have melted through the bottom of its containment vessel and on to a concrete floor, experts say, raising fears of a major release of radiation at the site."

This is very serious news indeed,and,only serves to reinforce the doubts I have about the current technology being used in the nuclear power in our water cooled heavy water reactors! True this -as of yet-is not on a par with Chernobyl-it is all the same-a very grave and dangerous situation that threatens to affect- God forbid- a large area around the Fukishima nuclear complex for years to come.

Consider thus quote from the Guardian article...

"The reason we are concerned is that they are detecting water outside the containment area that is highly radioactive and it can only have come from the reactor core," Lahey added. "It's not going to be anything like Chernobyl, where it went up with a big fire and steam explosion, but it's not going to be good news for the environment."

Living within fifty miles of a nuclear reactor myself I can only imagine what could happen if some unforeseen disaster-say an f 5 tornado-were to cause a situation like this at that reactor. I might well be told to evacuate from the home and land I have lived on for forty years and never be able to return!

I'm trying to keep an open mind about nuclear power but is getting harder and harder to do.If this nation decides to pursue the expansion of this energy source I hope we will at least look toward newer-less threatening ideas such as thorium reactors or pebble bed reactors.

We must also have a sweeping review of all safety practices,procedures,as well as ,backup systems at all of our current and future reactors. We simply cannot afford to have this kind of catastrophe happen on American soil.

I ran across this call for a Crusade to stop the petrol tax robbery over at The London Daily Express. It's almost like looking at a link on a conservative American blog calling for the reader to join in the movement against Obamacare or some such thing.
In almost tea party fashion it seems the Brits-who appear to me to be largely socialist- are growing sick and tired of the socialist establishment's taxes on what they call "petrol".

This is an interesting development -even in a country where the citizenry seems quite content with confiscatory taxes on anything that moves- there is beginning to be a backlash on taxes which they have correctly figured out are killing their economy! As the price of gasoline continues to surge it has more and more of a negative effect on the economy of this country. People have less and less money to spend on goods and services that might provide Americans with jobs and are in ever growing numbers sending their hard earned dollars-not only to wasteful governments in the form of taxes-but also to Arab nations that would like nothing better than to see us all dead!

It's time for the Tea Party to make a demand for more American production of oil,coal,shale,and natural gas a center piece of it's agenda alongside a demand for less government interference in our lives and business as well as lower tax.

Perhaps it's time for us to start our own Crusade against taxes on gasoline and Obama's prohibition on production from the Gulf of Mexico.

U.N approves "No Fly Zone" now will the U.S and the World act

The answer appears to be a resounding yes! Now that the U.N. has approved not only military action-such as taking out tank positions as well as ground forces-but also an actual "No-Fly Zone" it appears as a new coalition of the willing may soon be taking action to stop forces loyal to Libyan dictator Kadaffy from completely defeating the Libyan rebellion and possibly slaughtering scores of people who had stood against his tyrannical rule!

Mark Mardell at BBC News is reporting ...

"the first strikes will be unilateral ones by British and French aircraft. They could be in the air within hours. It is likely five Arab air forces will take part. Hillary Clinton has said it will mean bombing Libyan air defences. Nato will step up if asked but could take a while."

It's about time. It had begun to appear as though our dawdler in chief was well prepared to fiddle as Libya burned so to speak,but,ti her credit Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took a personal interest in this matter and -it appears-has almost forced the hand of the Obama administration on this issue.

Hillary is not my favorite politician by a long shot but-it is my opinion-she has more stones than "The One" has. In an earlier post I made the case for perhaps being able to win some hearts and minds in the Arab world by being decisive and taking action to aid the people of Libya in their quest for freedom from the much hated Kadaffy. It is heartening to see that apparently the United States and our allies in both Europe and the middle East are finally ready to get mobilized and take action!

So the answer to the question that headlines this post is ...
Yes the U.S. and the World are finally going to take action to see that the Libyan Rebels prevail in their struggle for freedom!

Having second thoughts about nuclear power

As the headline at Drudge screams "Surgeon General: get iodide" and headlines from around the world give more grim news of the nuclear disaster in Japan,and,even the U.S Navy prepares to move warships into safer waters, I have to admit I am having serious doubts about the use of nuclear power in this country going forward.

Since I have been old enough to have an informed opinion I have been a supporter of nuclear energy as a relatively safe,clean form of energy but the atomic disaster at Japan's Fukushima power station has changed all that!

Today-even as I am writing this-we have the unprecedented spectacle of 3 nuclear reactors out of control,containments damaged,and at least on reactor vessel breached. As if this is not bad enough there has been a strange emission of white smoke coming from one of the reactors. Is the core itself on fire? No one but the Japanese government and the people at the scene no for sure.

To top all that off radiation levels near the site of Fukushima power complex are dangerously high ,and,our government has said that a 50 mile radius around the plant should be evacuated. This is a truly frightening disaster unfolding before our very eyes.

Being a citizen of Central Missouri i live just miles from a large nuclear power plant. I can't imagine what it would be like if this was happening at that power plant. The idea that my entire family could be exposed to something like this is a nightmare I can't begin to wrap my mind around.

Therefore I have come to the conclusion that nuclear energy may well be just too darn dangerous to consider as a viable energy source going forward.In fairness I have to admit that our reactors-or the majority any way-are constructed much much better than the Fukushima complex. Where the Japanese outer containment appears to be sheet metal ours are made of concrete with walls that measure at least four feet thick .
In fact our outside containment buildings are built to withstand a direct hit from an airplane.

"the design and thickness of the containment and the missile shield are governed by federal regulations (10 CFR 50.55a), and must be strong enough to withstand the impact of a fully loaded passenger airliner without rupture.^[2]"

That being said what of the unforeseen? Our plants should be able to withstand the strongest earthquake that could come in their area,but, what if a quake occurs higher than what the building is designed for? What happens if a tsunami hits, or any other of a whole host of things that no one saw coming?

Nuclear power is a great thing when all goes well,but can quickly turn into a real bitch when all does not,and, in the final analysis that risk,the risk of radiation release and out of control fission are just too great,no matter how remote the possibilities.

As of this writing no one -and I mean no one- knows how this will end. This horrible horrible event could well render much of Japan uninhabitable. Given the extraordinary risks that even the most remote event presents I have therefor begun to have sever misgivings and very very strong second thoughts about nuclear energy. I fear that this is one genie that needs to be put back in the bottle,encased in concrete, and buried as far and as deep as one can do!

Freedom for Libya

We have all seen the images on t.v. people all over the middle east rising up against tyranny and demanding freedom! First in Tunisia,then in Egypt,Bahrain,Yemen,and then Libya. We have seen the images of thousands upon thousands of ordinary rank and file people getting courage and becoming bold enough to demand that the dictators that have ruled their lives leave and allow them to be free!

These are exciting times. We are witnessing a sea change in the thinking of people in the Muslim world. I believe that they are rejecting what Al-Qaeda-has been preaching-and have instead embraced the ideals of freedom and self determination that we cherish so highly!

I have watched the pundits on television wring their hands with worry that if the United States becomes involved in another Islamic country it would work against us. Hog wash! In Libya the people-ordinary people-old men-young men-and women-have stood up against a tyrant and are demanding freedom!

America has a golden opportunity here to win the hearts and minds of a Muslim world that has rejected the ideology of Al-Qaeda, and instead has embraced,the fundamental ideals of freedom and self determination,that are the bedrock of all republics.

Now is the time for America,Europe,and the entire free world, to stand with the freedom fighters in Libya,impose a no fly zone,and provide air support to the people of Libya in their fight for liberty and freedom.

Failure to act on our part may well open a door for Al-Qaeda-to exploit the situation-convince the people we care nothing of freedom for them-and allow Al-Qaeda to win the war of ideologies!

Australian P.M addresses Congress gives rousing pro-American speech

Yesterday March 9,2011 Australia's prime Minister Julia Gillard gave,what can only be called, a rousing pro-American speech to a joint session of Congress. What a breath of fresh air this speech is. For once here is a world leader saying good things about America. In fact Ms. Gillard spoke more highly of these United States than I can ever recall hearing our own President speak of this nation!

No apology tour here instead the Prime minister started her speech recalling how she watched the landing of our astronauts on the moon and how she thought "America can do anything" in fact she reiterates later in the speech her belief that "America still can do anything".

This woman was more of a cheerleader-in this speech- than our own President was in his most recent State of the Union address. However she doesn't stop there she continued on by saying that it was America who freed the world during WWII and that our values of "Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness' have been an inspiration and a model for people who yearn for,and,love freedom the world over.

Then she asserts that America has a true ally down under in Australia. In fact again and again she reinforces the fact that there is a truly special bond between the Australian and American people and that Australia will always stand by,and with, America.

For my part of all the other English speaking people of the world I feel the Aussies are probably most like us and I feel a true kinship with them. I don't know what this womans politics are whether she be conservative or liberal, but I like her statement that "real mates talk straight" and that Australians say what they mean and mean what they say! Would that more of our own politicians would speak so plainly!

As I watched this video I began to get a lump in my throat ,and noticed that Boehner was getting choked up, I could definitely sympathize with him, it is just so refreshing to here someone from another country sing the praises of this great land we call America. In fact as I watched I was proud of our Australian friends America is indeed lucky to have such a stalwart Allie as we do in the Australian people Long live America,long live Australia, and may God bless both our peoples!

Why can't we drill here drill now revisited

Once again the price of gasoline has risen above $3.00 per gallon,and yet,the administration of President Barack Hussein Obama is dragging it's feet in resuming exploration for oil in the Gulf of Mexico -as well as other areas of this country-to the detriment of us all.

Meanwhile as turmoil continues in the Middle East our addiction to foreign oil is becoming a national security nightmare. What happens if Saudi Arabia is the next domino to fall to the wave of unrest that is sweeping the Arab world?

This country could be brought to a standstill very quickly and the recent economic unpleasantness could be dwarfed by the calamity that could befall us if the lifeblood of western civilization is cutoff!

No matter what your politics on the matter of oil is,the fact remains, that oil powers our world. Yet this country sets on vast reserves that have been put off by limits by enviro-nazis and their partners in crime the Democratic Party!!

Still this is only part of the bigger picture. This country also has unbelievable amounts of coal,shale,coal sands etc that could be tapped to power this country-but in the name of the global warming myth-these vast reserves have been and are being -put off limits.

At the same time conservatives rail against subsidies for ethanol and bio-fuels but at least every time a person buys a dollars worth of ethanol or bio diesel that dollar stays here to support American farmers rather than fund Islamic killers who thirst for our blood!!

It's time to WAKE UP AMERICA!!! We have enough of our own energy to fuel this nation!! We MUST start doing every thing we can RIGHT NOW to develop all our energy options,oil,coal,natural gas, bio fuels,solar wind,any source we can exploit in order to sever the umbilical cord of dependence that connects us to a place and a group of people who regularly call for our death!

As much as I wistfully hope that the calls for democracy and freedom in the middle east will actually produce good fruit,I fear that what is going to happen,is the rise of an Islamic extremist empire that will become a grave threat to this nation.

It is high time for a Declaration of Energy Independence. We can no longer afford to be held captive in our addiction to middle eastern oil!

After years of near silence Mouammer Gaddafi is once more on the world stage playing court jester in a grim comedy of death and destruction!

In what has to be one of his most bizarre pronunciations yet Gaddafi claims...

"Muammar Gaddafi blamed a revolt against his rule on al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden on Thursday, and said the protesters were fueled by milk and Nescafe spiked with hallucinogenic drugs, in a rambling appeal for calm." (Reuters)

Whats more is that this guy-who apparently is a drug addict himself-is accusing the rebels of being such. Give me a break! This would be funny except for the fact that a lot of people have lost-and are losing -their lives because of this bastard's monomaniacal obsession with his own dictatorship!

However his nuttiness doesn't stop there Kadaffy also had this to say...

"Their ages are 17. They give them pills at night, they put hallucinatory pills in their drinks, their milk, their coffee, their Nescafe," said Gaddafi.
"They are criminals ... is it logical that you let this phenomenon continue in any city? ... We do not see what is happening in Egypt and Tunisia happening in Libya, ever!"

Face it Mooammer-or whatever your crazy ass name is- the people of your country are sick and tired of all your crap and claptrap and-I suspect-will eventually give you what you deserve death!!

For too long tin horn pieces of crap like Kadaffy have made life a living hell for the poor souls who are unfortunate enough to have been born into their regimes. One can only hope that the new wave of protests,and,demands for freedom and democracy in the middle east will lead to something good.

Alas I'm not holding my breath. When it's all said and done chances are that Egypt, Libya, Tunisia et-al more than likely will end up being ruled either by a different military dictator,or, Islamic extremist mullahs.

Super laser could make Star Wars missle defense possible

According to this post the Navy has succeeded in blasting a cruise missile out of the sky using what used to be called a "Buck Rodgers" ray gun!
A ray gun by the way that can eat through 20 feet of steel per second!

This is nothing short of mind boggling At a time when we see a rogue state like Iran on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon,and,China is on the ascendancy militarily,it seems to this blogger as though we need Star Wars-as the Strategic Defense Initiative- was euphemistically named-more than ever.

But more than ballistic missile defense this thing could revolutionize the way we can defend against any kind of missile or air attack. Furthermore it can be tuned to different wavelengths as well as powers, and be used for communication as well as detection.

When SDI was first proposed naysayers said it was impossible to shoot down ballistic missiles. Well it seems this breakthrough has proven them wrong. Herman Cain just the man to replace Obama

This is a video well worth watching!! It is Herman Cain Atlanta talk radio host,and possible Presidential candidate, at CPAC. I have researched this man before, and the more I see and hear,the more i feel this guy may well be the conservative candidate-as well as-just the man to replace Obama!

America is at a crossroads. There is a battle going on for the soul of this nation. We stand at a point in history where we will either adhere to the great values and principles that have made this nation "A shining city on a hill"or we will descend even further than we already have into the morass of socialism,and,eventual communism!

Many of us who are conservative have been longing for someone to enter the scene who could live up to the legacy of Ronald Reagan. I'm beginning to believe that Herman Cain may well be the man to fit the bill. In fact I am beginning to think that this man might well be able to surpass Reagan.

Here is a man of vision. Here is a man of faith. Here is a man that knows that this nation is the greatest nation on the face of the earth,and,he is not afraid to say it!!
He does not apologize for the greatness of this nation. He is a man who has ran a business and made a payroll. He was the CEO of Godfather's Pizza-as well as being-a newspaper columnist and a politician!

He stands for...

a strong national defense, the FairTax, tax cuts, energy independence, capping and cutting government spending, restructuring Social Security, and defending the U.S. Constitution.^[3]

He is a common sense,no nonsense conservative whom I think may well be just what we need at this juncture in history. He is a cheerleader for this nation,for it's founding principle,and,for the freedoms we hold so dear.
Herman Cain is a man who can inspire with his words.

The only other potential candidate that stirs me as much as Herman Cain is Allen West. Alas Allen West has already inferred that he intends to concentrate his energies on his position in the house as well he should.

Joy and Celebration in Egypt

Regardless of what your opinion may be about who or what entity has been behind the uprising in Egypt the pictures out of Egypt today make it clear that this is,as of now, a popular uprising of the totality of the people of Egypt.

One can clearly see that young and old,secular and religious,men and women, children and elderly have all come together to demand the ouster of a dictator.

This dictator brutalized the people of Egypt for 30 some years.Today to a person the people are chanting :We have done it", "We the people have driven Mubarak out"

The most striking thing that I see in this picture is that the people are saying "the people and the Army have won"!

At this point it appears that the military sides with the people. One can only hope that the Army can truly guide this country through a peaceful transition to a true democratic republican form of government.

Something else that is striking is that American journalist are surrounded by the Egyptians and there is no words of hate toward America, they are not calling for a fundamentalist Islamic state, rather they are jubilant, celebrating their new found chance for freedom, and demanding democracy, as well as,warning any future would be dictators that the people will not go back to repression.

These are people who have hungered for freedom and now have a taste of it for the first time ever!

It is my fervent hope and prayer that the voices of reason will prevail and that the Egyptians can truly form a republic that will uphold the rights of all the people,guarantee freedom,and be at peace with it's neighbors,and join the family of democratic republics of the world

As you can tell by the title of this video Ronald Reagan was a true believer in the Idea that America can do anything it sets it's mind to do! In a sense he was championing the idea of "Yes We Can" long before O'bama and company co-opted the term.

While Ronald Reagan was President he was widely reviled in the media,and,called bellicose,stubborn,ignorant,reckless and even worse Today while watching the liberal media fawn over Reagan I sensed a wistful longing for this great man of vision to somehow return.

Here was a man who believed in the highest ideals of the American experiment that if free people were left to their own devices under minimal restraint from government their was no limit to what those people could achieve.

When Democrats and their servants in the media claimed America's best days were behind her Reagan countered by saying America's best days were yet to come.

When the Gipper first entered the Presidency America was in a situation similar to the one we find ourselves in today. The economy was in a depression and we were perceived by the world to be fading away and becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Reagan changed all that. Through his unwavering belief in American exceptional ism He challenged us to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and be proud once more to be Americans and believe that we could reach for the stars and take control of our own futures.

There was no end to Reagan's faith in the power of the individual while always insisting that people could better solve the ills of the nation than any government program or agency.

He was the first President in a long time to invoke the original vision of our Founding Fathers, and ,was always a great Champion of those enduring values and ideals of individual freedom and responsibility,combined with a faith in God,and,a belief in the common sense of free men that lead this country to greatness.

So what would Ronald Reagan think of today's politics? I believe he would tell us once more that our greatest days are yet ahead. I believe he would be delighted with the Tea Party movement and their call to returning to our founding principals,and, most of all he would challenge us to look to ourselves for the solution to this country's problems,and, not the government.

America today needs a big dose of that Reagan optimism,common sense,and call to renewed American exceptional ism!

Global climate swings bring monster blizzard to midwest

OMG My fireplace burns carbon!!! I guess that stove caused all this snow!!!

Wow what a snow storm! I live in Mid Missouri,and believe me, we have been hit hard by the worst snow we have had in years! In fact for the first time that anyone can remember in this area we were put under a blizzard warning by the national weather service.

At the time of this writing-4:27 p.m. Feb.1 2011- we have at least a foot of snow on the ground and it's still coming.

You may be wondering about the title of this post"Global climate swings brings monster blizzard to Midwest". I chose that as a result of a Matt Lauer interview Michio Kaku with a few days ago on the Today Show.

Matt was interviewing a prominent pop scientist that claimed the heavy snows we are seeing are a result of "climate swings" caused by global warming (If video won't work click here)

Give me a break! This guy say's that the common sense idea that we are having colder weather because the world is cooling is wrong!

Here is my take. Many scientists say that global temperatures have remained constant or even cooled in the last several years. I contend that these "cycles that Mr. Kaku attributes to "global warming" are actually the "cycles' that most of us call weather!

To his credit Mr. Kaku does say that there is no proof that humans are responsible for the alleged global warming that are causing the ubiquitous "cycles' that are causing these extremes in our weather.

There is precedent for what we are seeing today. In the period from the 16th to 19th centuries there was what has been called "The little ice age"

During this period there were times of extreme winter weather interspersed with warming periods.
All of life follows cycles,and,what we are experiencing now is just another cycle in the long history of the Earth.

The Earth has seen dramatic swings over the millennia Everything from times when most of the earth was a rain forest. To epochs when the globe was a giant snowball.

Weather comes and goes. In my life I have seen us go from very hard winters during the seventies_when the scientists said man was bringing on an ice age- to warm years in the eighties and early nineties-when scientists really got on the man made global warming band wagon-all I know is this just seems part of the natural rhythm of our planet.

It's time for everybody to calm down and realize we are so insignificant when compared to this Earth that there is no way we have permanently altered the climate of an entire planet. To believe so is the height of arrogance and hubris.

Tax time blues

Well once again it's time to roll up the old sleeves and recommence the onerous American tradition of preparing our tax forms so Uncle Sam can plunder our wealth,as well as, show us who is really in control here!

I hate it! No matter how you slice it filing a tax return is a complete pain in the a--! I know I know. All theses great new software programs and online services "make it fast and easy" to file your taxes.

I agree they are a help,but,and this is a big but. It still galls me to have to spend the amount of time that I do,online,filing taxes. Especially when it could all be so much simpler and easier.

Foe instance if the FairTax were a reality there would be no need to file a return at all,and,this great national nightmare could be brought to an end. Or even if the flat tax were implemented life would be so much simpler. The form for the flat tax takes up no more space than the cover of a paper back book for goodness sake,and,buy God it's fair,everyone across the board pays the same flat percentage rate!

But have our leaders in Washington had enough sense to consider scrapping the current code which,by all accounts, would fill entire volumes? To date no!

What makes it all even worse is that when Paul Bremer was calling the shots in Iraq he imposed a flat tax in that country. Hell the Iraqis have it better than we do. Even the Russians instituted a flat tax and their economy thrived as a result!

I personally support the Fair Tax plan which according to their web site would...

Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
Allows American products to compete fairly
Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
Abolishes the IRS (source)

There is however hope. for the first time in years politicians,pundits,and the people are all calling for talks on fundamental tax reform. The President even made mention of it in his State of the Union address

I certainly hope that before 2012 we will see the current tax code scrapped and replaced either with the FairTax,or a flat tax, but I'm not holding my breath!

Well well civility didn't last long

Well Well the much talked about "new era of civility" didn't last long and who was it that violated the new atmosphere of kum by yah and holding of hands? Darn sure wasn't a Republican.

No it was a Democrat! In fact one Representative Steve Cohen Democrat from Tennessee fired of a salvo on the floor of the House likening Republicans and critics of Obama care to Nazi's and Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels.

This is soo typical of these folks. They always talk the talk but they never walk the walk. We have heard so much about how flaming rhetoric from the right are fanning the flames of violence,and, how we have all got to take a deep breath and not call each other names blah blah blah!

Well how about the other side? Do they never have to dial it back? Do the rules of civility and decorum not apply to the nuts on the left?

Here is my wager about this outrage. You will never hear one peep from the leftist media! However if a Republican had said something in the well of the house comparing Dems to Stalinists it would be Katy bar the door.

Seems the hypocrisy of the left never ends!

Hoorah for Gabriel Giffords

While watching the morning news the report came that in-addition to Congresswoman Giffords being able to give hand signs-as well as open her eyes-she has now been taken off ventilator! To this very welcome news indeed I say hoorah for Gabriel Giffords!

I'm a little late perhaps in speaking directly to the tragedy in Arizona. However waiting a space I believe can bring a little clarity to the discussion.

It has now emerged that the consensus on this heinous act-which the left tried to pin on the right-is that this was a lone act of a deranged nut! Words do not suffice to express how horrible this senseless act of violence was. The cost staggering.

A vibrant young woman shot in the head and maimed in the prime of life. An innocent 9 year old girl -with a new and burning desire to learn of American politics-silenced before she could grow to make her contribution,involved citizens trying to contribute to the political discourse,and a Federal judge assassinated!

Nothing short of an assault on our system of government. A slap in the face to the will of the people who elected Ms. Giffords-and generally -a kick in the face to all of us.

The fervent prayer and earnest desire of this blogger is that Gabriel Giffords will make a rapid and complete recovery from this unimaginable act of mindlessness. It is also my hope that the bum who did this will feel the full force of American justice and be made to pay for this evil deed!

Miracles do happen. Others in similar straits have made amazing recoveries. Let us all pray that this is the case for the Honorable Representative from Arizona,and,that she will soon be able to execute her duties and responsibilities to the great people of Arizona who elected her to this high office!

I hate to sound like a broken record,but,since the liberal media is keeping up the relentless mantra about how the "tone of political rhetoric" has got to change I feel compelled to call them out on the hypocrisy!

I can't help but ask the question: Why no calls for the left to tone it down? Every time some liberal pundit on the three old stream networks calls for a change in the tone of our political discourse,or for the debate to become more civil,etc,etc,etc what they are really saying is that the Right,and,the Tea Party,and by extension,the Republicans have got to quite down and quit opposing their socialistic agenda!

Well why is it that they seem to be so blind and deaf to the outrages on the left side of the aisle? Take for example the picture at the top of this page. When Bush was President they had no problem with nut cases on the left showing up at protests with signs like this. Could you imagine how tied into knots they would get should someone from the Right be seen carrying a sign like that referring to the "Anointed One"?

Even today the left -and leftist media- advocates violence against republicans consider these examples from Andrew Breitbart's Big Government blog...

So much for toning down the rhetoric. The left is more than capable of saying things that-by their standards-could well incite violence. Here is a quote from 2008 in Right Wing News...

This is nothing short of a call for violent revolution against the government. The left has been foaming at tje mouth over the Tea Party just suggesting we might have to have a second "American Revolution" which said revolution is a type of revolution that is a far cry from an "Intifada"!

Democrats have used maps with targets too!

Since the tragic shooting of Arizona Representative Gabriel Giffords there has been much talk about the heated rhetoric,and,vitriol of recent campaigns being responsible for the shooting of Ms. Giffords and the killing and injury of several others.

One person in particular-Sarah Palin-has been singled out as the "poster girl" if you will of what is wrong with the highly charged atmosphere of current American politics because of her use of such terms as "targeting,don't retreat reload, and other firearms related references!

Well guess what seems the Democrats are as guilty as anyone else of using this kind of "firearms related speech" in political campaigns. In fact according to some sources they have used maps depicting targets against their political opposition since at least as far back as 2004.

As I was preparing for this post I recalled Bush years when it was common to see liberal activists hanging George Bush in effigy,displaying posters calling for Bush to be killed ,and,others calling him a terrorist and calling for his death!
etc,etc

Where was all the concern and outrage on the left over hate filled rhetoric then? I remember Bush being asked by reporters how he felt about such incendiary language at the time and his reply was usually that they had a right to their opinions under the principle of free speech.

Political language in American politics has historically been quite heated and charged with vitriol. We are told by the talking heads on television that the political climate has never been as overheated and highly charged as it is today. Nonsense!

What of the era running up to the Civil War when the rhetoric became so violent and hateful the it wasn't deranged lunatics killing people for unknown reasons but sane people taking up arms against their own neighbors!!

You see I live in Missouri and it is an historical fact that because of the political climate prior to the Civil War their was a very bloody "Border War" going on between Kansas and Missouri. There was also an incident on the steps of this Nation's Capitol where one Senator nearly caned another to death!

No the current political climate,and, the speech of the Tea Party or anyone else is not to blame for Sunday's tragedy. The blame lies solely with a deranged lunatic who decided to grab a semi-automatic pistol and open fire on a group of unarmed and innocent people!

New content to be added at Vote for Democracy.org

In a previous post I reported about a new site that sought to bring a new face to public opinion polling.

Vote for Democracy describes it self as a ...

"a brand new website promoting political partication throught online voting. We hope to allow users to shape the political debate by showing support for politicians and policies that they believe in. It is our feeling that online partication will also will translate to higher turnouts in the final elections and that that is good for the country."

I originally described this new project as a "new kind of public opinion poll. Now it seems they want to be true to their stated goal of fostering public debate about the issues by allowing their users to "create their own ballot issues.

When I first visited this site I had to register as a voter at Vote for Democracy so I am already a registered user. However when the first ballot appeared registration had been waived in order to "enhance participation". Can't say as I blame the creator of the site seeing as how this new experiment in social media has only ben around for four weeks now.

I am excited about the potential for this project and really want to be a part of helping it succeed.

A reply to Ezra Klein: The Constitution is quite clear!

Well it seems Mr. Klein has trouble understanding the Constitution of the United States. I'm not the smartest guy in the world-but-I have never had trouble understanding the Constitution. It's not like trying to read the original version of the King James Bible which-with its arcane English-can be a bit daunting for modern English readers.

Actually the Constitution is pretty clear and straight forward. I know a lot of folks have already written miles of commentary about this video,but,I want to draw your attention not to what Klein says in the above video but rather to what he had to say in a related article in the Washington Post!

It seems Mr. Klein has-as most liberals do-a problem understanding the "right to have and bear arms"

Here is what he had to say in the Washington Post concerning that right...

"My friends on the right don't like to hear this, but the Constitution is not a clear document. Written more than 200 years ago, when America had 13 states and very different problems, it rarely speaks directly to the questions we ask it. The Second Amendment, for instance, says nothing about keeping a gun in the home if you've not signed up with a "well-regulated militia," but interpreting the Second Amendment broadly has been important to those who want to bear arms. And so they've done it."

Lets examine this statement. Mr. Klein says that the Constitution "rarely speaks to the questions we ask it".

What? It speaks quite clearly about freedom of the press,freedom of religion,freedom of assembly to name but a few of the questions we could ask of it,and,it speaks very clearly about the right of the people to have and bear arms.

In fact why don't we let the Constitution speak for itself...

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Yep looks pretty clear to me. The constitution says "the right of the people to have and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. The part about a well regulated militia is in their to give justification for the people to be able to possess guns.

It doesn't say a thing about being "enrolled in a militia". The founders had just gone through a revolution where ordinary citizens had formed themselves into voluntary militias in order to fight the British. They were not supplied by the government. However they did place themselves at the disposal of the Continental Congress.

The founders vision was that free citizens would voluntarily continue to form militias to protect their freedom.
How could free men come together to protect themselves if deprived of the right to arms!! Lets listen to the Founding Fathers in their own words...

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms."

-- James Madison, The Federalist Papers

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."
-- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-188

Very clear words indeed from the very men who had a part in drafting the Constitution but none more clear than Patrick Henry...

" Are we at last brought to such a humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our own defence? Where is the difference between having our arms in our own possession and under our own direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defence be the *real* object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?"

This last quote- more than all the others- makes it clear that the people themselves WERE the militia. Who better to be trusted with arms than law abiding patriotic citizens!!

No the Constitution is not confusing. Actually the Constitution is quite clear. The real problem is the confused and fuzzy thinking of folks like Ezra Klein and his fellows on the left!!

As we witness one of the harshest winters in memory,and,we have been told by the media,some scientists,and politicians that catastrophic global warming is a forgone conclusion it seems another monkey wrench has been thrown into the gears of the global warming/climate change juggernaut.

What may you ask is this monkey wrench? Dust! That's right dust! Yes according to a site known as Daily Tech it seems the computer models which the global warming crowd pin so many of their hopes for world destruction on are seriously flawed.

Yes it seems dust may have more of an effect on climate than carbon. Now we have all been told that carbon is going to cause runaway heating of the atmosphere and we all are going to die as the oceans rise and continents turn into deserts,or, whatever chicken little gibberish is in vogue at the minute with the climate change crowd!

In a post in a blog post from Daily Tech entitled "Dust study raises questions concerning warming models"

the author Jason Mick asserts the following...

"Some of the Earth's tiniest naturally occurring particles may have just bred a big mess for climatologists. New findings reveal that models scientists have long used to estimate the causes and effects of global warming may be dramatically flawed due to errors in one of their most important inputs..."

Yes it seems flawed data has been used to calculate the amount of damage human beings may or may not be doing to the environment! In fact he goes on to state that what recent warming has occurred-and there is no doubt that during the eighties and nineties the earth did warm-may have had more to do with solar activity combined with dust in the atmosphere than with carbon emissions.

"This is a critical finding because it shows that the Earth's climate may be much more sensitive to solar radiation than previous models have indicated, which in turn casts doubt on anthropogenic warming theory -- the idea that human carbon dioxide emissions bear the primary warming"

Here we are already enacting regulations,and,considering passing laws to limit "global warming" that may well cause severe damage to our economy,and,it's all based on so called science that may or may not be correct!

It seems to me that before we call on this nation's industries-as well as individuals- to radically alter the way they operate-and how we live- we would do well to take a more sober and level headed approach to the question of climate change.

Clearly "climate change" is a cyclical phenomenon. In fact we have a name for it-weather-its that simple the weather of the planet is always changing. Sometimes hot sometimes cold.

Once again we find ourselves in the proverbial deep freeze with record cold temperatures and plenty of snow. Heck places saw a white Christmas for the first time in history,and,what is the response of the liberal whacked out media? Well of course it's global warming!

If the weather gets hot it's global warming. If the weather gets cold it's global warming. What the hay if the weather does nothing its global frickin warming!

Enough with the global warming already!! This has got to be the biggest fraud-perpetrated upon the entire world-in the history of man! What really gets me in a lather about this is that we have had former E.P.A experts say that data and information that disagrees with global warming dogma are being suppressed.

We have had "damning e-mails" proving the key scientific supporters of global warming theory distorted ,and or,falsified data about global warming,as well as,plenty of scientific evidence that seems to prove that global warming is a cyclical event rather than a man made phenomonon,and,yet we continue to be told that the current rash of terrible winter weather world wide is global warming!

Here it is! We have record cold and it's because the world is getting hotter? Is it just me or does it seem as though highly educated people who should be able to apply some common sense to this subject are getting stupid?

The fact is that temperatures have not increased at all for at least 15 years. The level of the oceans has not increased,and in fact the north pole is larger now than it was in 2006!(see images below).

My horrible experiance at Facebook

As the picture at the left would imply I don't care for being walked on, abused,or taken advantage of. It also is a symbol of danger to those who would "tread on me"!
Yet that-it seems-is what has happened to me. I have been trad upon by some unknown scumbag who -it seems-has taken over my facebook account.

This situation has gotten me so pi--ed that I can't stand it!! I am currently in the process of trying to get this thing turned around,but, I have also learned a few things.

We are all becoming way to dependent upon this new social medium called :facebook"!
I have always tried to keep personal info at fb to a minimum,but,I see a lot of very smart people putting a lot of stuff out there. Be careful!
Face book makes it kind of hard to get back control of your account-although my own ignorance of the process has made things worse-educate yourself about the process before it happens!!!
Scum who hack into other peoples online stuff should be treated as terrorists!! The authorities should start looking at this sort of stuff accordingly.

As to the last thing on that list Julian Assange is no damn hero the bastard is a terrorist scum and deserves to be shot!! That's about how I feel toward the ass---e who has f'd up my facebook

Well just getting that off my chest helps. To any of my friends from facebook who may be wondering where I have gone I hope to be back soon!

A new gang of four set to help Dems pass DADT in the Senate

As the senate looks to-possibly-vote on a repeal of Don't ask don't tell it seems a new "Gang of Four" Republicans are poised to side with Senate Democrats and vote for a repeal of DADT!

Notable among them is Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts the one time golden boy of the tea partier and hero to conservatives everywhere for claiming the "Kennedy chair" for the American people!
Here is Scott Brown in his own words...

“I pledged to keep an open mind about the present policy on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Having reviewed the Pentagon report, having spoken to active and retired military service members, and having discussed the matter privately with Defense Secretary Gates and others, I accept the findings of the report and support repeal based on the Secretary’s recommendations that repeal will be implemented only when the battle effectiveness of the forces is assured and proper preparations have been completed.”

Another of this new gang is Rhino-Republican Olympia Snowe- according to Politico -Snowe's spokesman John Gentzel has said that the Senator from Maine will vote for repeal after the Omnibus spending bill is resolved. Well with that out of the way for now it looks like the Dems will move forward on seeking to repeal DADT so one would guess Ms. Snowe will get her chance to vote for repeal.

Along with Brown and Snowe,it also appears as though,Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins are prepared to jump ship and go along with Harry Reid in passing this pet project of the Democratic party.

It is my opinion that what people do in their own private time is their own business. However I don't like the idea of social engineering our military. Every one seems to have an opinion on homosexuals serving in the military,but,it seems that the opinion of the single most important group in this debate-those serving in combat brigades-is being ignored. Here is what the Commandant of the Marine Corps had to say about repealing DADT...

"When your life hangs on the line," said Gen. James F. Amos, the commandant of the Marine Corps, "you don't want anything distracting. . . . Mistakes and inattention or distractions cost Marines' lives."

or consider this quote from a recent DOD report on DADT...

"Nearly 60% of respondents in the Marine Corps

and in Army combat arms said they believed there would be a negative impact on their unit’s

effectiveness in this context; among Marine combat arms the number was 67%."

this quote was found in section 6 page 74 of the report under the heading Army, Marine Corps, and Combat Arms.

Bottom line here is that homosexuals already are serving in the military,but,if the guys who are doing the fighting don't like it I think it behooves us to respect their opinion and reject this repeal!!

6,488 Earmarks!

The Drudge report in a post titled "The Last Feast" is reporting that the new "Omnibus spending bill" currently before Congress holds an astonishing 6,488 earmarks!!!

Yes you read that right-6,488 earmarks-what the hay is going on here? Did the morons on Capitol Hill not get the message over the past year that- We the People- are sick and tired of these bills laden with pork?

According to this report the Omnibus appropriations bill allows for ...

$277,000 for potato pest management in Wisconsin
522,000 for cranberry and blueberry disease and breeding in New Jersey
$208,000 beaver management in North Carolina
$165,000 for maple syrup research in Vermont
$100,000 for the Edgar Allen Poe Cottage Visitor’s Center in New York
$300,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society in Hawaii
$400,000 for solar parking canopies and plug-in electric stations in Kansas

and that is just a partial list.

All these things on this list may be projects that have merit,but,not at tax payer expense! Seems to me that potatoe pest management can be financed by pesticide companies and the potato industry.

Maple syrup[ research belongs to those who have an interest in maple syrup not the tax payers. As for the "Polynesian Voyagers Society" they should be getting their support either from memberships, donors, or private fund raisers not the American people at the point of the I.R.S. gun!!

Obviously the clowns on the Hill haven't got the message. I'm calling on any and all who read this post to e-mail their Senators and Representatives and demand that this nonsense be stopped now.

I'm beginning to think that maybe the only thing that will get their attention is a mob of angry taxpayers with torches and pitchforks storming the Capitol like a scene of the villagers going after Frankenstein's castle in the old movies.
One Senator who seems to be getting wise is John McCain he had this to say about this outrage against the citizens of this country...

“One thing is abundantly clear to me – that the majority has not learned the lessons of last month’s election. The American people could not have been more clear. They are tired of wasteful spending. They are tired of big government. They are tired of sweetheart deals for special interests. They are tired of business as usual in Washington. And they are tired of massive bills – just like this one - put together behind closed doors, and rammed through the Congress at the last moment so that no one has the opportunity to read them and no one really knows what kind of waste is in them."

Yes we are!! The people are sick and tired of 2,000 page bills,stuffed with pork,laden with lard, and squealing like suckling pigs!! They are tired of politicians passing bills so they can "find out whats in them" rather than reading,as well as, debating them before they are passed.

We the People need to keep this in mind, remember that this is the parting gift the Democrats are trying to force on this nation, and throw even more of their liberal,socialistic,a##'s out the next time we have a chance!!!

Vote for Democracy: A new kind of public opinion poll

I stumbled upon this site purely by accident,but,from what I can tell it is so new it hasn't even been indexed by Google yet!

The name of the site is "Vote for Democracy". The stated purpose of the site is...

",Vote for Democracy is an online resource for the public to register their opinions on issues of the day and the political strength of the politicans we expect to carry out those policies"

When I first visited Vote for Democracy the user was required to "register" to vote,but as of this writing,the requirement to register had been waived in order to "increase user participation".

There was also a much longer "about us" section that told that the creator of the site had voted for Obama but was disillusioned with Obama's performance so far. However the author stated that he desired an open bi-partisan participation,and, promised that all polling would be fair. There was also a requirement to declare as either a Democrat or Republican, with, the stipulation that the voter could only switch parties periodically.

Tonight-Dec 14,2010, -I revisited the site and found that-as I have already mentioned-that t the registration requirement was gone,however, when I punched the vote button I still had to pick Democrat or Republican Ballot. I am very intrigued by this site.

It is apparently an attempt at a new kind of public opinion polling. Polling that bypasses the established pollsters,the media, and special interest groups,and instead, goes directly to the American people!

It is the opinion of this blogger that if this new experiment in opinion polling takes off that it may well become an invaluable asset to bloggers,as well as, main stream media types. I would encourage anyone who is conservative-or even liberal for that matter- to be sure and check out Vote for Democracy and let your opinion be counted.

Democrats should follow J.F.K.'s lead on taxes

The democrats in Congress would do well to study a little of their own history as it regards tax cuts and spend a little time watching this clip.Today we find ourselves in the midst of the worst recession since the great depression. Unemployment is the highest it's been in more than twenty years,and,yet there are those in Congress who would like to raise taxes and add further injury to the economy!

They fail to understand that government does not create anything-other than onerous laws and regulations-it only consumes. The true job creators are...

Consumers who spend hard earned dollars on goods and services.
Those with capital who create jobs by financing new,and ,existing economic ventures.

When the government takes money away from these two groups there is less money available to be spent by both consumers and capitalists on true economic stimulus!

Contrary to his Democrat progeny J.F.K understood that if you want to grow the economy you have to cut taxes on everybody. The Kennedy tax cuts lead this nation into unparalleled prosperity through most of the 1960's Alas our politicians once again lost their way in the late sixties and into the seventies and thought the way to grow the economy was to tax and spend.

Unfortunately they failed to realise that the "people" and not the government are the true engine of economic growth. Fortunately for America the "people"- in their wisdom- elected another man that knew the best way to rev up the economy was to lower taxes on both working people-as well as-entrepreneurs-his name was Ronald Reagan.

Today it was announced that President Obama and Republicans on the Hill had reached a compromise on extending the Bush cuts. Yet the Democrats were said to be angered at this turn of events and could well try to throw a monkey wrench into the whole thing.

If they decide to try and let the whole thing roll over into next year it may well be one of the dumbest things they have done in some time. This country needs to demand real tax reform now,the Democrats would be much better served if they would take a look at this slice of history and learn from it,and America would be better positioned to start recovering from the disaster it has been in for far too long now.

Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell-joined by all 42 members of Congress-have effectively put the brakes on Harry Reid's agenda to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants,pass the new START treaty with Russia,not to mention the mad dash to repeal "Don't ask Don't tell".

He rightfully points out that the people want real action on extending the Bush era tax cuts-as well as-doing something to create an economic atmosphere in the country conducive to job creation. Now- most certainly- is not the time to raise taxes,and, that is exactly what a any kind of repeal of the Bush tax cuts would do.

Especially egregious is the idea of raising taxes for individuals or corporations making over $250,000 per year. This would be extremely harmful to-what everyone agrees is the engine of the economy-small business.

There are scores of businesses in this nation that are considered "small" that make well in excess $250,000 raising taxes on these companies at best might lead them to maintain the status quo,at worst it could drive them out of business!

As for the Democrats constant desire to tax wealthier Americans to death. Poor people do not create jobs,invest in factories or sign paychecks,rich people do! As talk radio host Sean Hannity is famous for saying... I've never had my paycheck signed by a poor person".

The best thing the Democrats could do-in this session- is renew the Bush Tax cuts,at least for the next three years,do what it takes to keep the government running, and look for every opportunity to get the government's hands out of "We the People's" pockets, and the government's nose out of our business!!

This time of the year is very hard. I do reasonably well through ten out of every twelve months; with the exception of a mild pity party here and there, I tend to be fairly irrepressible. Can't keep a good woman down, you know. Staying busy - mentally more than physically, of course - helps a great deal.

The political climate of the past few years hasn't helped much. It's created a mild, constantly thrumming anxiety I can sometimes feel in my bones…a sense of impending doom often heightened to a nearly obsessive wail by the helplessness I personally feel when dealing with the physical challenges I face daily, challenges to which I had to adapt at what will probably prove to be the midpoint of my life. I've never considered myself anything other than utterly intractable, obdurate, stubborn beyond all reason. As long as I can remember, I've been the kind of person that, once my mind is made up, digs in. This characteristic has gotten me in nearly as much trouble as it has ever helped me, and I always wished I could be just a bit more flexible.

As the adage goes: Be careful what you wish for…

One of my very favorite pieces of Scripture is Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." (AKJV) What I lack, He provides. When my mind, heart and spirit become so mired in black that I can't move, can't breathe…I pray. He has never failed to answer my call - even when His answer wasn't the one I sought.

This year, everything is almost better, for the first time in seven years. The anniversary of my accident is two weeks away now, and I can feel that black despair waiting to seize me up again. As I pray, I'm overcome with a conviction that He has something very specific for me to do, and I understand quite well that the hardscrabble changes wrought in my mind and body will help me to do it, even if I don't understand why or how. But everything, by the same token, is also almost worse.

High school athletes punished for expressing belief in God and thanks for His abundance. Atheists urging people of faith to "celebrate reason" during the holiday season. A government agency violating the civil liberties of millions of Americans because political correctness prevents them from following safety protocols proven to actually work. Politicians refusing to listen to their constituents, deliberately misconstruing recent midterm elections to justify pushing ahead with a progressive agenda the people DO NOT want. A wannabe terrorist INDEPENDENTLY deciding to murder innocents - including CHILDREN - and being defended by liberal twitbots who claim the federal agents responsible for preventing such a heinous act are actually responsible for entrapping the "beautiful young man" and creating the free society SO VERY TERRIBLE it has spawned a counterculture of misguided youths who feel they simply must strike it down in the name of islam. Yeah, that makes no sense to me, either; but amazingly enough, it's true.

We'll never get through to these people. Anyone who can believe something like that last needs real divine intervention, an authentic "come to Jesus" moment that I don't know how to provide. It's all I can do right now to crawl out from under the covers each day.

So for now, that will be my prayer. I'll try not to be so quiet in the coming days - I promise - and I'll pray that the truly misguided see the light.

It is the opinion of this blogger that the Wiki leaks folks should be arrested,and, their sight shut down-after all D.H.S. is already shutting down domains that share copyrighted material illegally-obviously all the files they are sharing are stolen classified documents!!

Former President George Bush was widely ridiculed for having called Iraq,Iran,and north Korea an "Axis of Evil". In fact the BBC reported his "controversial" assessment of these rogue states in this lurid headline...

Seems to me that Mr. Bush has been proven right!! In the last few days we have seen the idiot ruler of North Korea shell a South Korean Island-killing two civilians and two South Korean Marines-destroying property and terrorizing the world!

In the mean time the tyrannical government of Iran has suppressed all forms of dissent,killed an innocent teenage girl, and set that country back 60 years!!

Now if that isn't evil I don't know what is!!

The left criticized Mr Bush for being "bellicose" and yet they are strangely silent when the murderers in Iran and North Korea perpetrate their crimes. It is true that they report-with seeming reluctance- these events ,but, they never launch into the same sort of personal attack,or, character assassination, that they reserved for Bush-or for that matter-any conservative that stands up and calls these psychopaths what they are evil- go figure!

Yes as the world stands on the precipice of war. As North Korea gives a new definition to "Bellicosity", and, Iran procures more powerful missiles-obviously with the intent to load them with nuclear warheads- it appears to this writer that George Bush was right to call these rogue regimes exactly what they are "An Axis of Evil"!!!

As our thoughts begin to turn to the the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday most of us are preoccupied with travel plans,thoughts of turkey and all the trimmings, and getting together with family and friends. Most of us will take little time to think about the Pilgrims-outside of some stereotypical images we have of them-who held the first thanksgiving-and- what bearing their lives and sacrifices mean to us.

The first Anglo Saxon colonists to this country were a hardy and intrepid bunch of deeply devoted Christians, seeking freedom to practice their faith unfettered and unadulterated by European culture. They also set the stage for American self determination. Their "May Flower Compact is the first of this county's founding document. It was a compact among them selves-a contract if you will with each other-to lay a framework for how they would deal in and amongst themselves, to create order,secure tranquility, and set up a mode of self governance that would eventually find it's culmination in our Constitution.

It is only fitting- at this time of giving thanks for all we have-that we reflect on the great gift of freedom and self determination that these men and women suffered and sacrificed for,and,handed down to us. So this Thanksgiving take time to give thanks for them,the Mayflower Compact, and the example of liberty and freedom that they set for us all.

We need tax reform now! The FairTax plan for national prosperity

As was pointed out in a previous post the direction of the debate in America over the "Bush tax cuts" needs to be turned toward the real problem which is the need to scrap the current tax code and replace it with a fairer,more viable, alternative!

Some are proposing that we reduce the income tax, impose a consumption tax, and increase the cap on the amount of income to be taxed for social security. This is just plain wrongheaded and dangerous. We don't need to add another tax on top of the income tax,and,we sure as heck don't need to increase the amount of our incomes that is taxed for social security, Medicare, or anything else. Proposals such as these will do absolutely nothing to grow the economy,and return this country to prosperity.

What will work is the simple seven point plan for economic security,and,prosperity proposed by Fair Tax.org

This plan calls for...

eliminating individual income tax.
eliminating payroll taxes.
eliminating estate,and,gift taxes.
eliminating capital gains taxes.
eliminating the alternative minimum tax.
eliminating the self employment tax.
eliminating corporate income taxes.

and replacing them with a national consumption tax of 23 percent of new retail spending.

If individuals are allowed to keep all the money they earn more will be available for discretionary spending.

If the rich and poor alike are allowed to keep what is theirs more dollars will be available to be spent on purchasing new goods and services,creating more wealth,investing in business, etc etc

Most importantly if individuals and corporations are freed from capitol gains,and,corporate taxes billions more will be available to build plants, create jobs,lower prices, and the list goes on and on. Further more if this country were to abolish corporate income taxes this country becomes the most attractive place on the face of the globe to do business. It could well be that "Made in America" could replace the "Made in China" logo.

That is a plan for national prosperity-as well as -real change that we all should be able to agree with!

Tax reform now! Forget the Bush tax cuts!!

The big question of the day-since the midterm elections has been- "will the Bush tax cuts be extended?" Why even ask this question? The real issue is that the entire tax code needs to be scrapped! In fact,instead of stressing over whether or not to extend the Bush era tax cuts, why not take a look at revolutionary reform of the current tax code,as well as ,abolishing the I.R.S. as we know ?!!

This nation was founded because the people grew sick of the tax burden imposed upon them by the King of England and the abuse of power that was used to collect the taxes imposed upon them by the King.

Today we find ourselves in a similar situation-hence the Tea Party movement-the King of England had turned a deaf ear to the concerns of the Colonists-much as our present government has ignored the will of the people-and he paid a dear price-much the same as those politicians who most recently chose to ignore the people-both of them lost power.

The history of this nation is one of a people wary of taxation. In fact Thomas Jefferson had this to say about taxes...

"To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his father has acquired too much, in order to spare to others who (or whose fathers) have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, "to guarantee to everyone a free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."

Prior to the Tea Party movement another movement had already begun in America. A movement who's aim was to scrap the current tax code,abolish the I.R.S. and, totally reform the way taxes are collected in America!

That movement is the FairTax movement. We The People have spoken! now is the time for the newly minted representatives of the people to consider a whole new course for this nation! A course based on fairness. A course based on traditional American principles. A course based upon the idea that the people do not exist to support the government, but, that the government exists to serve the people!

The time has come to consider the FairTax!!

Backed by the creator of Netscape,Marc Andreesen,Rockmelt is the brain child of two plucky entrepreneurs Tom Howe and Eric Vishria.

The mystery missile. Could it have been fired accidentally?

An apparent missile launch-caught on tape-has turned into an event that can only be described as "bizarre".

Yesterday evening a CBS affiliate in Los Angeles caught on tape a missile-what some are calling an ICBM-being launched 35 miles off the west coast near Los Angeles.

At the time of this writing no one in the Pentagon is admitting that any branch of our armed services was behind the launch. What they have said is that it was not a "threat to our national security",and, that it was not from a "foreign military".

The Pentagon is now saying that what was caught on tape was likely an "aircraft". Please! There is no way that what -even the casual observer can tell is a rocket-was caught on tape is an "aircraft"!!

This is obviously a missile case closed! What is not apparent is why was it launched,and, who launched it? It seems that this may well have been an accidental launching of an American ICBM,and if so, that means that it was destroyed sometime after launch,and, that there may well be a warhead lying somewhere at the bottom of the Pacific ocean somewhere between California and Alaska!

Examine the evidence. Absolutely no one in the U.S. military is claiming this thing,yet the government services are saying it is not a threat and didn't come from a foreign military. That leaves-by default-only one other source the U.S. military.

If this missile had been launched by a private organisation-as some have suggested- they would surely have put out a press release by now. If it had been hobbyists surely they would have been noticed before they could launch simply because this thing is obviously a very large rocket. The foreign component seems unlikely because there is just so much hi tech gadgetry on the floor of the Pacific Ocean-that is designed to track subs- that it would seem impossible that an enemy sub could get that close to our shores!!

Time will likely show that this was an unintended launch of -what could well be a nuclear-missile. This sort of thing has happened before-remember the cruise missile carried by a B52 over Iran-this is likely a scandal,as well as, a cover up in the making

We The People give the Democrats a drubbing of historic proportions

That's right-We The People-gave the liberal Democrats in the house of Representatives a drubbing, nay, a beating that they should not soon forget! If they do forget it will be at their own political peril. Come to think of it those who got elected last night would do well to heed the lessons of this election!!

We the people are a very tolerant,forgiving, and long suffering people. We are,and,always have been more likely to suffer abuses than to turn to revolution. However when pushed to a certain point the people of this country always have ,and, will rise up and push back against a government out of control.

The founders of this nation chaffed for a long time under the yoke of British tyranny until they could take it no longer and were forced by circumstances to rise up and violently throw off the chains of the oppressor.

Thank God that in their wisdom-as well as being guided by God- they gave us the Constitution that we have today which makes possible a bloodless revolution like we witnessed last night-Nov. 3,2010-and make no mistake a revolution it was.

After a long series of abuses by the Democrats in the house-as well as the Senate-lead by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid the people said enough is enough and threw the bums out!!!

The Founding fathers sought to constrain and regulate the Government. Theses people sought to constrain and regulate us!!

The founders felt that Government existed to serve the people. They thought the people exist to serve them!!

They were oh so wrong and learned a very hard lesson . DO NOT IGNORE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE!!

Citizens Against Government Waste-or C.A.G.W.- has produced a new campaign add that should scare the beejeezus out of us all! It deals with the fact that all the money we have recently borrowed for so called stimulus came from the Chinese.

The name of the video is "Chinese Professor". It shows a smug Chinese college professor-from the not so distant future- lecturing his students about how three great civilizations fell,these being the Greek, Roman and American civilizations. His premise is they fell because they forgot the "principles" that made them great!

Never was a truer statement made-especially as it concerns present day America-this country in recent years has almost totally abandoned the principles upon which it was founded. These being the principle of limited government,almost unbridled individual freedom and the freedom for anyone or organization with a good idea and capital to create products and services for profit.

We became the envy because individuals were free to dream,create, and strive for the stars without interference from the government. We became the envy of the world because the government got off the backs of the people and allowed them to work, produce and create and keep the fruits of their labor for themselves. We became the envy of the world because individuals were allowed to pool their capital and create goods and services that satisfied the needs of the public at large without the government taxing, and, regulating it to death.

Today however is a different story now the -all knowing- government seeks to guide and control every aspect of our lives. Those in power think that government creates jobs,and that, throwing money at any problem will solve it. That basically is the whole premise of the failed stimulus,that the government can borrow tons of money from China,take over the economy,dictate to the individual, and miraculously the economy will heal itself and prosperity will break out everywhere.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. We have began the trip down the road to fascism-the condition where corporations are privately owned but dictated to by the government-and it cannot end well.

The Chinese are becoming what we used to be at the beginning of the twentieth century. They are becoming the economic powerhouse of the world and they must be laughing their arses off at us.

If their is not a radical change in the direction of this country we will indeed be working for them,not as free men, but as slaves,and they will be laughing all the way to the bank!!

An open letter to NPR concerning the unjust firing of Juan Williams

I would like to preface this by saying I am a conservative. Juan Williams and I would have some very strong differences of opinion. However I have always had a great deal of respect for Mr. Williams.

He has always-from what I have seen and heard-spoken what he believed to be the truth. He is a man of his convictions and does not shift positions depending on the prevailing political winds. What NPR has done to this man-for simply speaking honestly- is unconscionable!

Political correctness is a cancer that is eating away our freedom. Political correctness came out of Leninist and Stalinist Russia. It is an idea that you dare not speak an opinion that is contrary to what the "Party" line is. That party need not be the "Communist Party". It can be modern American Liberalism,current progressive thought or even conservative orthodoxy.

If I were on an airplane and saw some folks of Mideastern descent dressed up like jihadi's I would be nervous too!

I was once on a flight from San Diego shortly after Sept. 11. In fact it was one of the first flights after the no fly ban had been imposed following Sept. 11

There were six men on that flight of obvious Arab,or,Mideastern descent. Two were seated at the front of the cabin,two in the middle,and two near the rear. I was most definitely nervous. The flight crew were nervous too. About forty minutes into the flight all the passengers were ordered to stay in their seats for the rest of the flight and then the flight crew chose what they deemed to be loyal citizens to stand in a criss cross pattern in the isle to prevent anyone from storming the cockpit.

Bottom line it wasn't little old ladies from Pokeepsi that are spreading death and mayhem around the world,it is,Muslim fanatics,and it is only natural to be nervous about wondering if the guy in a white robe with a turban,or,a woman with a burka on your flight might want to kill you for being an infidel. After all it is a prime directive of Islam to kill the infidel wherever you may find him!!

In the video above one can see- Nancy Pelosi-a woman I once called a tyrant in "An open letter to Nancy Pelosi"-say her "priority is to get Democrats elected to congress! It seems she has all but forgotten that Her job is to Represent and serve the people of her district in California! Her first,foremost,and, ever present priority should be serving and representing her constituents,not,scoring points for fellow Dems.

After that outlandish statement she goes on to state that Her time is money and-with what can only be described as hubris and arrogance-say's..."whether I get a larger majority in my district is beside the point"...this is arrogance in the extreme!!

It appears that Nancy is taking for granted that she will get a majority of the vote in her re-election bid. Does Queen Nancy know something the rest of us don't? I know all the pundits of the MSM seem to think their is no sense in covering this race-after all how could John Dennis possibly win-and it is quite apparent that Pelosi thinks she has been anointed to that position,but, it ain't over till it's over!

There is still plenty of time before the election,and,the only poll that really counts is the one on November second. Pelosi's arrogance-and apparent lust for power-may well be her undoing

In recent times Pelosi's favorable rating have been dropping like a rock and it appears that Dennis may have as high as a 22 percent backing by likely voters with 17 percent undecided. Keep in mind that what poll results are available may be underestimated. The major organizations seem to be ignoring the race.

In recent elections the polls have often been wrong with challengers delivering stunning upsets to incumbents that the pollsters and pundits thought were shew ins.

Ms Pelosi would do well to reign in her arrogance-as well as taking her re-election for granted- this is an election year like none seen for a very long time. The natives are restless-so to speak- and Queen Nancy could well find herself in the unemployment line!!

It seems that no one has the time or inclination to follow the race for California district 8 the house seat held by Nancy Pelosi! Just try finding poll results for John Dennis vs. Nancy Pelosi. They are virtually nonexistent.

In what is without a doubt the most under reported story of the 2010 political season it seems that there are no less than 38 black Republicans running for national office. That's right 38-three for Congress thirty five for the House-how is it that the "Old Media" has missed this? Then again how is it that the "New Media" hasn't picked up on this?

This blogger has to admit he missed it himself. If not for the Laura Ingraham Show-and her guest today Michael Steele-this blogger would have been clueless! In fact Steele made a statement in June concerning the historic amount of black Americans running for office this year on the federal,state,and local level...(click here for the full list).

This is amazing! The Republican party historically was the party of black Americans until the 30's when somehow the party of slavery-the Democrats-managed somehow to win them over to their side. What followed is a sad story of liberal philosophy and theories almost singlehandedly destroying the fabric of the American black social community. In fact through the endless entitlement mentality of the Democrats black Americans-as well as a multitude of other races-have been enslaved by dependency on the all-mighty government!

Hoorah! for these great Americans of color who have rejected the victim mentality of the Marxist Progressives-regressives actually- and have taken a stand for freedom,individual liberty,and the founding principles of this nation!

These are truly historic times that we are living in. It is clear that the people of this nation have had enough and after-the only poll that counts in- November the political discourse in Washington is quite likely going to change radically. The Drudge report had this link this morning to a site called casting.backstage.com with a job posting seeking actors for....

As of this posting Drudge is showing a link to Jake Tapper's ABC News page titled "Casting Call for Audience of Obama’s MTV Town Hall?"

Is this what it has come to for "O"? Traditionally Presidents have had their party hand out tickets to the general public for this sort of thing, but, not Barack, seems the Prez is so insecure that he has to have the audience vetted ahead of time to make sure no one asks any- what can we say-uncomfortable questions.

Barack Obama is a one term wonder. He is another Jimmy Carter! This guy knows that He and his minions Pelosi and Reid -as well as- a large number of incumbent Democrats have had it come November.

Wow! I so wish i could have recorded this unbelievable comment by this liberal,progressive,nut. I take his statement to mean that he-Ed Shultz- also opposes all that the Tea Party stands for. Lets take a look at that. What exactly has the movement called the Tea Party-or taxed enough already-stand for?

Number one: lower taxes! evidently old Ed and his robots on the left like giving their money to the government to be thrown down a rat hole.

Number two: A return to the Constitution and the founding principles of this nation,individual freedom,religious liberty,and freedom of speech, to name but a few.

Number three: This is the most important limited government tightly controlled by the people,and, therefore more responsive to the people!

Once again our all knowing government in Washington is considering another bail out. This time it is a bailout of the aged and dying print media.

What a crock of baloney! In May the Federal Trade Commission issued what it calls a "staff discussion draft titled "Potential Policy Recommendations To Support The reinvention Of Journalism".

What the hay! The government didn't invent journalism why in the world do they have to have a hand in "reinventing journalism"?

I have posted on this subject before in a piece called "Bail out Mania". I can't believe we are even having this discussion. In the old days when an industry or service or whatever became obsolete,outmoded or outdated they went out of business.

Not any more-today if what you produce becomes obsolete - the government will come to your rescue to blame the innovators and to prop up the flawed product that you produce that no one wants anymore.

This is basically the case with the print media. Hard copy-hold in your hands- newspapers are obsolete!! Besides that the majority of the nations newspapers have become nothing more than mouthpieces of the liberal progressive movement. They are extremely biased and the public is sick of it.

People don't trust the main stream media any more. Now the FTC wants to prop these shysters up. This is an open invitation for corruption of all sorts. Ultimately this will lead to government control of the media in one way or another. How critical are news organizations going to be if they are counting on the government dole to survive?

The past week saw the roll out of a shocking new report from the Center for Security Policy which should be must reading for any American who loves this country and prizes his or her freedom!

Take a moment to google "Muslims killing Christians" and one will find numerous stories of Islamic intolerance of other faiths. Another good one is "Indonesian Christians attacked"!

The fact is that many Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia forbid the importation of Bibles and actually will kill any of their own people who happen to convert to a religion other than Islam.

For the devout Muslim sharia is to be sought through any and all means either "Dawa" which is the call to Islam."Civilizational Jihad" which is to transform a culture from within,or, direct Jihad, and we all know what that is. Even as I write this there are numerous examples right here in America of Muslims practicing civilizational jihad by seeking to have judges impose sharia law in certain court cases.

What America and the West need to learn about the Islamic concept of Dhimmi

America is in a time of turmoil and foment. We have all witnessed recent events concerning the GZM and also a Christian group wanting to burn Qurans-both of which I find distasteful. In the latter case because the Bible teaches us to do unto others-and by extension other faiths- what you would have done unto you! I certainly don't want Muslims to burn Bibles,so,why should I burn a Quran?

I wish the Muslims involved with the GSM would think likewise and retreat from their plans to build near Ground Zero because they wouldn't like a Christian center near The Kabba in Mecca.

However Americans need to know more about the concept of 'Dhimmi". Dhimmi is basically a state of surrender,submission,and subjugation . The word Dhimmi although being a modern construct-having first been coined by one "Bat Ye'or". It can be traced back to a treaty between the inhabitants of Khaybar and Mohammad called "Dhimma".

"In 622 CE when Muhammad began his systematic conquering of pagan Arab populations and territories in the Arab desserts and peninsulas, he set up a precedent of conversion, death or servitude. Mixing war and religion, he utilized and abrogated relationships with non-Muslims to gain political and eventual territorial gains.... The state of Dhimmitude degrades people in lands where Muslims have become a majority to second class citizens and basically leaves them in a perpetual state of subjugation,humiliation,and slavery

Where oh where is James Carville and his claim that the Democrats would rule "The Next Generation"after the election of Barack Hussein Obama! In fact Carville was so bold as to say this...

I bet old James would love to take them words back. What James and the rest of the radical left failed to take into account was the inherent love of freedom in the American people. As I reported yesterday The State Dept. submitted-for the first time- a report to the U.N. detailing the state of human rights in America and what steps we have taken to insure human rights. Well as I said this reads like a litany of all the wonderful things the "progressive"democrats have given to America.

One of the first things this document lionizes is that freedom of association protects workers and their right to organize. What is left unsaid is that this administration is currently pursuing "Card Check" a new system that would eliminate the secret ballot and instead make the results of how each worker voted in elections to decide whether or not to go union public. This is an open invitation for unions to intimidate workers into voting for unionization.

The second great accomplishment of the Democratic party cited in this document is the "Voting Rights Act".
Someone needs to remind Hillary that if not for the Republican Party the northern liberals could never have gotten this legislation past the southern Racist Democrats!

Then there is the "Help America vote act". That one got put in after George Bush "stole" the election in Florida. This has made it so easy to get registered to vote that even illegal aliens can vote.

Lets not forget the "Matt Shepherd James Byrd Hate Crime Prevention Act". Why do we need another law trying to decide what a person was thinking when he killed another human being? Murder is already illegal! Just enforce the law dammit! and it goes on and on and on, a compendium, if you will, of all the great things The Dems and Obama have given the world!

All I can say is give us a break. O has joined the last refuge of the world's dictators, and like them, is trying to use the U.N Commission on human rights for propaganda purposes!

Well chalk up another historic first for the Obama administration! For the first time our State Dept-headed by Hillary Rodham Clinton- has submitted a report on the state of Human Rights in America to the High Commissioner of Human Rights at the U.N.

What is interesting is that we are reporting to a commission who has counted such illustrious defenders of human rights as The Peoples Republic of China, Libya, Russia, Algeria, Saudia Arabia, to name just a few, in it's membership.

There are some parts of this report with which I can agree and find interesting . This report starts by stating that America was founded on the principle that Mankind is endowed with unalienable rights. I have to ask though why has this administration -as well as Congress- seemingly hell bent on trampling those rights?

The report then covers what is the mission statement of the Constitution "To form a more perfect union" Why has this administration worked almost tirelessly to divide the people?

This report goes on to extol what has made this country great ,respect for individual liberty, dignity, and human rights, in fact it even has this passage with which I cannot disagree...

"The principles enshrined in the Constitution and the system of government that it prescribes—including the checks and balances between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, as well as the reservation of significant authority and autonomy for the fifty states joined together in a federal system—have been the basic building blocks of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people "

Then why have this administration and Congress made a habit of undermining the Constitution, defying the will of the people and labeling as extreme anyone who dare question them?
From this point on it begins to sound like a Democratic Party fundraising letter presenting a litany of pet bills and projects of the Democratic Party past present and future. It also heaps mounds of praise on our glorious leader Barack Hussein Obama! To be continued.

Virtually ignored by the leftist media Allen West candidate for Congress from Florida's 22nd district
won a respectable victory over his opponent Ron Klein in the Florida Primary Tuesday night. Yet how many people have even heard of him? I first learned of Mr. West from a post on this blog by my co-contributor Movefearlessly.

This simply amazes me. If this guy was a liberal newcomer up against a conservative the MSM would have been all over him. However turns out Mr. West is a conservative candidate-and has been endorsed by the Tea Party-so heaven forbid the left wing media say a word about him.

This is exactly the reason I started blogging. It makes me mad as hell to have those idiots promote themselves as fair and balanced-and I ain't talkin Fox News here- with a straight face.

Beltway Blips disappears with no explanation

That-to my surprise-is what I found as I tried to log on to "Beltway Blips" last night. Beltway Blips a site that aggregated and posted blog posts from around the Internet inexplicably disappeared last night. Just yesterday I read their news letter telling who the top posts were for their site in the month of August but when I tried to login to their site last night this is all I could find.

Anything associated with Ball Hype, Show hype or Daily Radar has simply become nonexistent. I did find a post from the blogger behind the site,Louis Gray, saying he had taken a job with My6sense.

Just an observation. As someone who recently joined Beltway Blips it would have been nice to have been told in the newsletter they were shutting down. For now just consider me confused. As for Beltway Blips it looks like a good site has gone down the drain. I can only imagine that there are a bunch of bloggers scratching their heads this morning

I found this over at The Jimmy Z Show it shows a black man-and great American- by the name of Ted Hayes an activist who supports Arizona's immigration law delivering an impassioned-and I mean impassioned-speech in defense of the Arizona law.

This guy is amazing. There is a point when Mr.Hayes tells these tea party type people that they have moved closer to blacks than blacks have moved to them. He calls out both blacks and Latinos for their own racism.

The main stream media would have us all think that the grassroots movement-which has many faces-called the "Tea Party" movement is racist this video proves that to be a lie. This is about all Americans-whether red,black,white,yellow, or whatever coming together to secure this country against what is-in essence- a foreign invasion.

A chapter in American history is drawing to a close-Operation Iraqi Freedom-and the people of Iraq have been given the opportunity to create for themselves a democratic republic. Yet talking heads like Rachael Maddow(I call her Maddcow) still can't bring themselves to admit that -not only was "Iraqi freedom" a success but so too was the "surge" that finally broke the back of the insurgency.

True there is still a lot of random violence on the Iraqi street,but, there is a hell of a lot of that right here in our own country. We don't have ieds going off-yet-there are more people killed in our cities on a given day than in Iraq.

What the M.S.M still cannot accept is that the world is a better place because of this operation. One of the worst tyrants in history-a lunatic on the par with Hitler and Stalin-has been removed not only from power-but literally from this world. A place that potentially could have become an incubator for al-kaida has been shut down and that band of deviant rogues have been forced to take up shop elsewhere.

The brave men and women who have fought the good fight in Iraq deserve better than what they have gotten from the likes of Maddow et al. This war could have been wrapped up sooner if the MSM hadn't become an Alie to the terrorists in Iraq, Through their one sided and twisted coverage of the war during the Bush years they gave aid and comfort to this nation's enemies and-I believe- emboldened the insurgents- as well as giving them fodder for anti-American propaganda.

George Bush-though flawed in domestic policy- stuck to his guns and would not back down. If he had buckled to Maddow and her ilk in the leftist media there would have been a blood bath in Iraq. This isn't even taking into account some of the nonsense spouted by Reid, Pelosi and Obama-as well as -other Democrats!

What started as a bill to tax CEO bonuses,then morphed into an aviation bill, has now-it seems- turned into a massive bailout of the teachers,firefighters, and police unions-and God knows- what else. I first heard of the "Bill with no name" over at CNSNews.

The more I researched this the more confusing it became. This bill is a never ending labyrinth of special interest amendments and pork barrel spending. Here is a link that lists all the major actions taken on this bill with amendments. (Click here to read)

the first I'll mention is laudable-yet I would say questionable-its a proposal "To reduce the deficit by establishing discretionary spending caps " another i found interesting was an amendment
"To establish an earmark moratorium for fiscal years 2010 and 2011" seems to me if this had been taken seriously the rest of this can of legislative garbage would not exist!

One has to really wonder what the heck planet these people are on! The bad thing is-that as citizens get more engaged-and read theses things- the politicians can't believe that things like the "Tea Party"movement aren't real! Bills like this are why the "Read the Bill" movement is picking up steam.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Chuck Rangle tried to cut a plea deal with the House ethics committee but that GOP members but a quash on the deal.

What ya trying to hide Charlie? This,to me is like trying to plead the fifth, if you do it's like an automatic admission of wrong doing.

In my opinion its becoming clearer and clearer that Mr. Rangle has been up to no good. Rangle has had a lot of bad publicity of late-beginning in 2008- when he faced charges of failing to pay taxes, was charged with violating House rules by accepting gifts from corporate interests to living in rent stabilized apartments in New York city. Roy Blunt trounces Robin Carnahan in Missouri Primary.

Well it seems the results of Missouri's vote on Prop C has gotten conservatives excited, but, there is some other news from the "Show Me State" that also bodes ill for the Democratic Party com November.

According to the Missouri Secretary of State web site Roy Blunt -the Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate- garnered 409,798 votes compared to Carnahans 264,733 votes.

Blunt earned 70.9% of republican votes where as Carnahan had 83.8% of the Democratic vote. If one takes theses numbers and add them to the more than 70% percent vote that Prop C got then I would say the natives are very restless in Missouri. Matter of fact-it is my opinion- that Carnahan and -anyone or anything- connected to Obama, the Democratic party, and their socialistic liberal agenda is going to go down in flames come November.

The Democrats in congress thought that all the protests against-as Sarah Palin would say-their "Hopey changy thing" was just "AstroTurf" well Queen Nancy what do you think now?

In Missouri races for Us Reps. the Republican Candidate for Missouri District 2 got 71,424 votes compare to the Democrat candidates votes of 24,092 and it goes on and on.

If Missouri is-as the news media like to say-a "bell weather state- then I think come November conservatives could have control if not two houses then at least one house of Congress.

Missouri Democratic Party all fired up over Joe The Plumber ad!

In the waning days of the primary campaign in Missouri the Democratic party of Missouri is all fired up over a Joe the Plumber ad in support of Republican Senate candidate "Joe Perguson". I first learned of this story the "Prime Buzz" section of he KC Star online.

In a complaint filed with the FEC they allege that o'l Joe produced the ad with the help of a Missouri organization-ran by a conservative African American blogger-known by the name of "The Black Sphere". It also states that joe didn't identify who approved the ad_and further more -GASP- he didn't register himself as a "Political Committee".

What a crock of baloney. This is exactly what is so screwed up about so called "campaign finance reform". It is an horrendous infringement on the right to free speech.

The first amendment is all about political and religious speech. The framers of the Constitution intended that there be no limits on political speech or religious exercise, and yet, the campaign finance laws we have now can be used to stop someone like Joe the Plumber from expressing his support for a candidate he likes. This is just plain old wrong.

In the opinion of this blogger the only campaign finance laws there should be is disclosure in how much some one or organization gave. After that there should be no limits or restrictions. If one candidate has gotten all their money from one special interest or organization, and, another candidate has gotten their money from the grass roots, then let people decide in the free market of ideas who to support.

Don't get all fired up and try to use stupid laws to silence those who oppose you!

What's the fuss over Arizona?Missouri has had a similar law since 2008

Evidently when it comes to laws to limit illegal immigrants-particularly those from Mexico- the Show me state really showed the way. Recently all the headlines have been about the controversial anti-immigrant law in Arizona.

Liberal politicians have been foaming at the mouth over it, the President has practically declared war on Arizona over it, and the liberal elitists in Holly Wood have boycotted it,but really ,what's all the fuss about?

Missouri passed a similar bill in 2008, aimed at cutting down on the number of illegals-read Mexicans-in Missouri and no one even noticed. Here's a quote from Missouri's bill...

"Law enforcement officers must inquire into the immigration status of any individual detained in a jail facility for a violation of state law. If the individual is found to be illegal, the officer shall cooperate with any request from federal authorities regarding detention and custody transfer"(click read the bill).

Here's my take on it. the Missouri bill was short, concise, and to the point,it wasn't a contentious issue before it was passed, and it the support of not only the people, but, both parties, and to cap it all off it became law without very much fanfare.

The same-unfortunately- cannot be said for the Arizona bill . In Arizona there seems to have been a rush to get any law passed-and understandably so-since the Federal government apparently didn't have any intention of providing security for the state.

Then during the debate several portions became quite controversial-causing it to become a lightning rod- thereby insuring that the MSM and the liberal elites would get involved and muck everything up with political correctness.

Well as the old saying goes the rest is history Arizona has now become a political circus, while, Missouri's law still goes largely unnoticed.

So to sum it all up "whats all the fuss about?" Arizona didn't take enough care in drafting their law, and most importantly the crazed Liberal Democrats got involved, along with their lackey's in the Liberal press, and have done nothing but turn something that should have been a local and state matter into total mayhem!

Because of the words- penned over 200 years ago-in this text people have been guaranteed freedoms that preceding generations only dreamed of.

We can pick our own leaders, hold them accountable, and demand they do OUR will. Not the other way around.
As a result of this Nation being formed, and this precious document being created freedom has not only blossemed in America, but has also began to spread around the world.

This country-guided by the principles set forth in the Constitution- has set entire peoples free from the strangle hold of tyrants and dictators time and time again.

The world has beaten a path to our door seeking the freedom,peace,prosperityand security that is afforded by The Constitution.

Alas today our Constitution is under attack like never before. It's time that We The People demand that our elected leaders return to the Constitution.If they refuse they must be turned out of office period.

Well, well, well, seems John Kerry -one of the most tax loving liberals of all time- apparently has attempted to dodge a $500.000 tax bill.

Yeah that's right Kerry it seems he has attempted to avoid paying excise taxes to the state of Massachusetts by keeping his new multimillion dollar yacht moored in Rhode Island.

Once again a -"fat cat" multi-billion dollar- liberal is caught red handed trying to dodge taxes,that he and his ilk, love to impose on everyone else. In this video, from Fox News Boston, Kerry appears to be a little nervous,and definitely not "transparent, as he is confronted by a Fox news reporter and a vidiographer.

Note that Kerry say's ,"We'll pay our taxes, we've always paid our taxes,it's not an issue period, we've always paid our taxes". Sounds like he's trying to convince himself ,as much as ,he's trying to convince the reporter. Then after being pressed he later tries to dodge the question of taxes by saying "it depends on who owns the yacht".

Well turns out it's owned by his wife's company. He spends some time ducking and weaving by saying something about maintenance, and , warranty work. Well for goodness sake the thing isa brand new multi million dollar yacht why in the world does it need warranty work already? Sure as heck sounds like a dodge to me

Joint U.S. South Korean exercise draws ire of Kim Ill Jung!

What a sappy looking jokerthe "Glorious Leader" of North Korea,Kim Ill, has gotten him self into a tizzy over joint U.S. South Korean military operations near the east coast of Korea. In fact this nut is threatening to retaliate with nuclear weapons in what Pyong Yang calls a "Sacred War".

Kim ill with nukes is like a child with matches given enough time the entire house is likely to be set on fire. This guy should be thankful -as well as hope- that the F-22 Raptors being used in this operation aren't dropping shock and awe bombs on his crazy little head!

The Associated press is reporting...

"The drills, set to run through Wednesday, involve about 8,000 U.S. and South Korean troops, 20 ships and submarines and 200 aircraft. The USS George Washington, with several thousand sailors and dozens of fighter jets aboard, was deployed from Japan."

that's a pretty massive show of force. I dare say there's enough firepower to pretty well take o'l Kim out! I'm heartened to see us flex our muscles in this way as an answer to Kim's outrageous sinking of a South Korean naval vessel,but, we should actually be taking out a North Korean vessel,or, military installation in retaliation.

When it comes down to brass tacks the only thing his kind understands is unequivocal brute force. Kim has no respect for our current leader whom-I'm sure- he considers weak. Well if he keeps it up even Barack Obama may be forced to use force to put him in his place.

Truth or Dare

Last night, rumors circulated all around the Internet that two ranches in Laredo, Texas had been overrun by a Mexican cartel. It appears that many elements of the story may actually have been rumor, and many believe the entire incident was nothing more than a hoax. Although it's apparent that there was violence in the area yesterday, the specific nature and details of that violence remain unconfirmed.

The entire event bothers me for a couple of reasons. First, it is entirely believable that such an incident could in fact occur and that the media wouldn't report it, directed not to do so by the local authorities or the federal government. There are legitimate reasons for giving such news only brief attention - fear of revealing critical tactical information, for example. A media blackout, on the other hand, would be entirely unacceptable; this is in fact what the rumors of the alleged event stated had happened. And obviously, there are many people who believed this could have been the case. The last presidential election and the events which have taken place since have completely destroyed much of the credibility the press once possessed. Simply put, the public by and large does not trust the media to report the facts.

The other thing that bothers me about this is the alacrity with which so many accepted the incident as a hoax. If the events of the past three years have taught us anything, it should be that we don't stand a chance of achieving our goal by attacking each other. United we stand, divided we fall. While most people were simply concerned at the serious nature of the story, there are a few who rather viciously attacked their “friends” for being so gullible as to fall for a trick likely perpetrated by the left. By taking such a position, these people give the impression that we should all just shut up and sit down for fear of being ridiculed. That mindset is a great deal of the reason we are in the situation we face today.

There are very few journalists in our country today who are regarded as trustworthy. In a political atmosphere rife with the tension of corruption, citizens are forced to acknowledge that if we want the facts, we're going to have to ferret them out ourselves. Additionally, we're going to have to set aside our innately human fear of being ridiculed. Does this mean we should report something as news without having verified the surrounding facts? Of course not - but we're going to have to be willing to work hard and research quickly. And perhaps most importantly, we must fix firmly in our minds the reason we're doing this. Not for recognition or profit, we are doing this to save our country.

Ronald Reagan said, "There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit." This same sentiment applies to ridicule; you can accomplish anything when you don't mind being laughed at if you fail. If we are to be successful in restoring this Republic, we need to lay aside dreams of glory and fears of ridicule. I can only speak for myself, but I'm in.
